Step 3: Try to activate key on Steam.
Step 4A: If key activates, celebrate by marking "Received", putting game in backlog and showering SG with gibs.
OR
Step 4B: If key doesn't activate, wait 7 days then mark game as "Not Received".

It's pretty common on those mass giveaways they won't do rerolls or fix keys, but it's still your responsibility to mark it not-received to protect yourself. Everyone makes mistakes, but at least you know how to handle the situation in the future.

It's too bad you got a key that didn't worked, but support can't be expected to ask each person why they didn't activated, when the fact that you have to mark received or not received is there exactly for that purpose, so that if you don't get it or get a key that doesn't work you can marked that you didn't get it or actually activated it.
