Flipnote Studio for 3DS free for Club Nintendo Members

So we're all sad to hear Club Nintendo is disappearing....BUT, Nintendo is giving members a going away present before it does. They're handing out download codes for Flipnote Studio 3D for the 3DS until the end of March. Site traffic is kinda heavy right now, so it might take a little time before you get the code for it.

Yeah, it looks like it's just for North America. I'm not sure if they're doing anything special for other regions.

They never do, at least in terms of games. All those games you guys can get on Club Nintendo? Nothing to be seen here. I can get notpads, bookmarks and the occasional decent (and horribly expensive) items. Just no games, which is what I want.

I'm not sure where CO is, but there are a few limitations with changing country settings

  • You can't change to US from a PAL region to get US games, because still region locked.
  • Pretty sure since they started using the Nintendo ID, it wipes your EShop authorisation on the system, preventing all previously purchased games from working.

Given I mentioned being in New Zealand and using a PAL Club Nintendo, it should be kind of obvious. :P

Changing the EShop region to US won't work for anyone without a US system, in which case they should be using that already.

They are, but not now. For Europe/Australia & NZ, they're releasing Flipnote Studio 3D with the launch of the successor program to Club Nintendo.

The codes good 'til the end of July, so you could actually hang onto it if you get a 3DS later and use it before it expires.
