Good point. And the format does seem identical to the retail keys from some other games.
So yeah, I think I'll go ahead with the giveaway and hope that the key is usable. If it isn't... well, I'll just have to acquire a replacement key to send to the winner.

I acquired a key for Witcher 2 Enchanted Edition. I was going to gift it, but... the problem is, it doesn't look anything like a normal Steam key. It's in this format:
XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX
. Way too long for a normal Steam key.But I tried to activate it on Steam, and it was recognized ('Product already owned') as Witcher 2. ...so what the heck? Is it safe to gift, even though it doesn't look normal?
