I didn't know that birdie chilled easily, should have put something warm beside it.

Still better than being sucked dry by a blood-sucking pest, right?
Edit: Lol I just noticed roasted in my OP.

I'm in the military bootcamp, they're not going to let me go outside just because of one sick wild pigeon.

You learned something and it also could be that the pigeon had other but internal issues that you were unaware of or it could have gone in shock by stress or temperature difference.

That reminded me of the swollen beak, almost bald on its back, hardened swollen stuff around its butt and only struggles when I try to pick, didn't fly or run away from me, perhaps it's too late already.

I you can catch a wild bird with nothing more than your hands than it's either too young or too weak and too sick to fly away.

I think you did the right thing, but I would call a vet over if possible.

As others have said, you tried to help and that counts. From my experience with saving wild animals, most of the time they die no matter how much you try to save them. Rest in peace my buddy

I remember trying to save a pigeon I found after a pretty bad blizzard when I was a teen. He was trembling with cold and he was already pretty weak. The little guy didn't make it either and I was devastated. You get points in my book for trying though.

Well, I found the roasted wild pigeon infested by louse fly, without knowledge, so I decided to quick google and found that I should bath it with salt water.
The louse flies are escaping salt water (there were 10 or so flies) so I pick and stomped them, then put a pigeon into the bucket warped with a cloth by the time sunlight is gone, now I think it's chilled to death because I saw it shaking and I didn't dry it properly.
Now it's laid on the side, paled and not even responsive. I remember it panicking when I try to pick it and heart racing in my hands. I think I just slowly killing it rather than saving it. FeelsBadMan
Perhaps I should leave it alone in the first place.
