Well that would exclude redeemable keys or retail ones and even HIBs. Yes people may buy the HIB for 1 cent and throw it out here, however there are a lot of people who for several reasons may not be able to purchase it and who would love to play those indie games. Personally I have won HIB 2 and HFB and even if they were bought for the minimum amount I still thank the gifters for throwing them since I have had loads of fun with those titles and missed the opportunity to buy them :) So I am not sure if that would be the best solution :/

Except HiBs are not allowed atm so people can't throw it here or they might get banned for doing so.

It depends on what you view as fake?
Does the person own the game? They don't actually need to own the game until the very last moment when they buy it as a gift
The gift does not show in their inventory? You can set your inventory to private so nothing shows... which is perfectly alright
First giveaway on first day? Well that person is just kind (I did that)
Person does not comment? Lots of people don't
Huge big awesome giveaway for new person? That person could just be kind
Person calling FAKE in comments? You are but a lemming following the other lemmings off a cliff if you take that for fact

I mean giveaways which show several red flags at the same time, or even all of the above and others which you didn't mention and which end up by getting deleted eventually. Sure some of the facts u stated may end up getting some legit giveaways reported but we all know that that is a very, very small percentage of all the giveaways that get reported. In general if a giveaway raises enough suspicions for me to report it, then it usually is in fact a fake one. And what it seems to me is that these kind of raffles are becoming more and more common.

True the report button should not be used lightly. However if a giveaway starts to raise a lot of red flags it usually is not a bad move to report it I think. I mean the reporting of a giveaway does not automatically disable it, it is just a heads up from users to direct mods to those particular suspicious giveaways. I suppose that every time a giveaways is disabled after being reported it is thourougly checked to see if in fact it is or not fake. And I guess the report feature was added to the site to help mods a littlebit, to give them a heads up to some of those shady rafles. And I think that after all the time they spend with the site and the hard work they put in it the reporting of suspicious titles by users can only help their task :)

Is it just me or recently we get to press the report button more oftenly than the enter giveaway one? :P I mean it might just be me but in the last few days there seems to be an inflow of fake and bullshit giveaways created, greater than ever before. Or even if not greater, enough for me to be looking for the report instead of the enter one ^^
It ranges from epic fake giveaways (MW3 and so on), to HFSB disguised as whatever other bundle or game, a Dirt 3 key as the original Dirt game or the ever so famous MP keys for DMMM.
I know that this is a subject very diificult to control for mods, and unfortunetly one that I suspect occupies most of their time, however I can't help feelling that a more aggressive stand should be made against these actions. Either insta ban, or a system of automated warnings which by the 2nd/3rd warning would automatically disable one's account (kind of like that of private trackers you know?). I know I might be getting unfair to the mods because if there is one thing we must acknowledge is their hard work on steadily improving this site over time, but it also makes me sad to see these people constantly doing this and many times getting away with it.
In the end, let me thank all the mods and people who contribute to improve this site in spite of all of this. Their efforts must be acknowledged indeed and so my best regards to them
Cheers
