These Steam Machines (not "box") are aimed at the console gaming, majority market. They aren't capable of building their own machines in most cases. (ask anyone else who has worked pc tech support like I have. The average schlep doesn't even know when heir PC isn't plugged in some times)

I was saying the same thing earlier today. It's aimed at the console market, not PC users. For kids and families that prefer, for whatever reason, a TV + console. It's essentially to steal some market share from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. If you already have a computer, or spare tower to make your own "steam box", there's no point.

First commercial Steam box.

Says it has solid specs but fails to mention what they actually are other than the GPU, AMD Radeon R9 270. Basically a 7870 and a 500gb hdd
