Well, in steam has been lots of times. Mount and blade, warband and "with fire and sword". Forgot about M&B because "M&B warband" has the same + all new + MODS. Lots of mods that change EVERYTHING. Still its not a survivor and you don't really craft, at least in vanilla, but you need to get rescources, pillage, control your castle, gain the favour of the kings, etc.

Look more info, because maybe will suit you and its a very good game.

I've only played 7 Dies To Die extensively, and it's definitely worth it. It's not a "looker" but it's fun.
Plus it's made by a team called "The Fun Pimps". With a name like that, you gotta buy it.

give me some time check if it can be done from admin console
anyway you can edit this line in dedicated server to disable zombies
<property name="EnemySpawnMode"value="3" /><!-- 0 = Disabled 0%, 1 = Very Low 50%, 2 = Low 75%, 3 = Medium 100%, 4 = High 125%, 5 = Very High 150% -->

or disable them on advanced options before entering world

If you like a heavy crafting based survival type games then I highly recommend Wurm Unlimited. This is newly released on Steam and is the standalone version of Wurm Online which I have been playing for many years. You can setup your own private server or play on one of the many public ones. So it's single or multiplayer as you choose.

I don't think it will go on sale, it's only been out a month. It's also got a thriving community. We've got loads of mods for it and several people are doing video tutorials and such for it.

I was a hardcore player of The Sims 2. There looks to be some similar elements, except I doubt you have control over individuals. There's also no in-game currency. Everything you get is from harvesting resources and trading with outsiders. Perhaps a better game to compare it to is Dwarf Fortress.

I haven't played too many survival games yet but have played

h1z1 i would not recommend it for you as doesn't have single player :( & the survival mode sucks (BR's are the only fun thing with it at the moment but has way too many hackers & damn dirty teamers )

Reign Of Kings again doesn't have single player & has lots of hackers but the crafting & building etc is pretty good, the survival aspect is pretty easy thou & unless you're on a whitelist server people are dicky as hell

Don't Starve I would recommend is single player & build for that purpose, good for everything has cool Sanity mechanic but it hasn't got good combat just click away on what your attacking but is a pretty fun game

Recently there is a free weekend for GRAV which is kind of an exploration/crafting/monster killing game somehow similiar to ark:survival evolved. The good thing is there is a pve server and i think there is single player too. There is no zombies but lots of creatures/alien/dinos. I spent 20hrs during the free weekend and i like the combat, vehicles and exploration as it has a pretty huge map. I was playing all alone during that period and it was very fun.

I personally love 7 days to die, but since someone already convinced you to get it, it's all good!

I also enjoy ARK: Survival Evolved at the moment, it has flaws but it's fun. It's the best pokemon game ever.
It has tameable dinosaurs you can build your base on. And floating boats you can build your base on.. and.. well.. land.

I've been playing solo and 2-player co-op only.

Non PvP makes the game a bit more casual since (unlike 7-days to die) there isn't really a scripted threath out there, besides from time to time a wandering carnivore that spots your base / dinos and gets hungry.
So usually my beachhouse is safe.
I imagine it can get more difficult if you make a base in the woods.

Building is really cool, because like i said you can build bases on boats and walking dinosaurs, which ive never seen before in any game.
There's a massive amount of crafting stuff to learn.
There's massive amounts of dinos to search and tame, and the island has some special locations to find.

It's not the best as a survival game (seriously, 7days2die), but it surely is one of the most interesting crafting/collecting games right now.

Take note that you need a decent gaming PC to get 40-50fps on medium.
I've done some tweaking with the help of forums that got me to a stable 50fps on high.

Well, You can't go wrong with 7days.
It is literally the best. ;)

Ark does have threats when you wander into the forest, and there are times where you get your face eaten over and over, but yes, theres usually only danger when you go out looking for it. :)

I love survival games as well, though I also like the Multi aspect, however there are a few single player titles that are good. Stranded Deep sticks you on a desert island where you have to survive...a more "Realistic approach" to island survival than The Forrest...and Savage Lands(A medieval style survival game where you can play solo or you have the option to play with others)...

I would also suggest Rust and Reign of Kings. Both are multi player, but you can play and survive on your own, and if PvP aint your thang, both have optional Non-PvP servers...so you can pretty much just ignore everyone and run about doing your own thing.

LiF:YO is good, but you need a lot of time and progression is slow. also better with a dedicated group to play with.

Hahaha, yes, you are!

Wait, you mean to tell me - you haven't played it since then? Jim, my man, you missed out :D
I played The Forest before, and it was awesome. Didn't play for long though, maybe four-ish hours, but from the YT vids I saw, the monsters get harder and harder, which is freakin' great since I don't care for the multiplayer side of the game, unless I personally know people I would play it with.
I need a constant threat to keep me going, and I gave up on Rust even though I really love the game. I just couldn't bare playing and investing an all day, just to see everything gone the next day (sometimes even a few hours later). I decided I should invest that time in beating some other games :)

On the other hand, browsing my wishlist, I saw 7days to die and wondered would that be a better choice, plus it's like 2eur cheaper than The Forest. So I stalked your profile as well, to see if you've purchased it back then, and even wanted to ask you about it. I admit, I thought necroing your old thread would be funnier.

I am 99% sure I will buy The Forest, since 7Days to Die still looks inferior to me in terms of graphics, plus there is no constant threat later on in the game, as some people have reported that you are more or less OP xD and it even resets every 42 days or so(?)

None of those. 7 day to die ain't a looker, bur generally thats fine. The problem is that it isa bit clunky, zombie AI suck, i encounter quitz some bug, and when theu do changes / update it also often fucked up yourworld and you have to restart...

Life is feudal could have been great, if instead of grabbing money by making new game they made update / fix on their game. The game is complex and it is very long to do anything in the game. Wildlfe AI consist of fleeing into sea then drown..

Th only game i would recommend are minecraft for the sandbox and ARK ( but not on official server where you are fucked if you aint a cheater / hacker or part of a 50+ member tribe) that asid ghe game have a very huge amount of content / update, not something youll see on many survival game.
