You now own Too Human for the Xbox 360.
Seems to be permanent

Redeemed on PC via the link up above. I don't think it can be played on PC but it is now tied to my Microsoft account

If you want to grab it should you get one later, you could just make an account now, though 'purchase' through PC requires a payment method be added to your account (and they will do the test withdrawal some sites do, though that gets refunded later) unlike the console, where you just log in and add it to your account without needing payment options added to the account.

Exactly, the problem is that right now I don´t have my 360 with me to make the download

Well, you probably have a couple of weeks, the previous free games stayed up a while. And failing that, you have no online purchase ability at all? At worst, you lose a dollar for a couple of weeks. If you have used it before on the account to purchase games or Live Gold, that charge shouldn't even happen, it is just new payment methods.

I never bought anything on the Xbox Store so I really can´t get it but it´s okay maybe it happens like crackdown that is still free

I thought MS made a big deal out of letting people keep their games even when not subbed to Gold because Sony doesn't let you play Plus games without that sub?

They are not selling it anymore if it's free.
Well, bad, 360 only game, I guess I'll pass.

I thought it's in the backward compatibility list which means all games in the list work on x bone and probably the new console too
that will be coming soon -ish.

The last one to be added ,hence why it's free.

I believe Microsoft decided to deal with Epic to get this game sorted since they were the publisher and I imagine had a better business relationship with Epic. Unsold physical copies were still destroyed and I doubt the developers get anything from sold digital copies of this game.

its free but you need a valide credit card ?!!! THEFUK !!! :)

See my response to the original post. It has nothing to do with the game itself, just the ability to have an account on the store. It's nothing nefarious. In fact, I know that MS uses this to weed out scammers, cheaters, and the like.

Just grab it through the 360, only the website requires a valid payment option on your account

Some sites are just weird or stupid like that. They get confused that you would be 'buying' something without payment information and no exception is made for free items even though it won't withdraw any funds.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can use your game system to claim free items without a linked payment method, but the Microsoft site seems to require a payment method.

Um, that's just in general for your Microsoft account. You need to register a credit card to buy on the store. Google does the same thing. So does Steam (in fact, Steam's requirements are a lot more invasive that Microsoft's, because they force you to have at least $5 of purchases before they unlock various features, unlike Microsoft). Microsoft deserves criticism for a lot of things, but not this.
The game's still free and it won't even check your card.

The only way you avoid a credit card on Steam is if you are granted money for your Steam Wallet from another source (i.e., a gift from another account). So yes, you're correct in saying that you don't need a card to sign up. But, as soon as you want to use most of the features (like Friends), you need at least $5 US of funds in your Steam Wallet or you need to purchase $5 worth of games/software. The only way to fund this yourself is with a credit card.

That's really interesting...then Steam must have its UI behave differently based upon the user's country. Because if I go to add a payment method to my account on Steam, there is no Paypal option. When you click on the drop-down, it lists five different types of credit cards, and that's it.
For all I know, you can link a debit account to your Microsoft account instead of a credit card. In the US, we actually have debit cards with the credit card logos on them so that they can be used like a credit card, even though they're really direct debit. So, by using that method alone, you could avoid a "real" credit card in the US and just link your Microsoft account to your bank.
[goes away and checks]
So I just checked my MS account, and you can link to your bank directly, or you can just link to your mobile phone (meaning that you don't need a credit card at all...you can just pay it via your cell phone bill, and if your company lets you pay with cash or credit or Paypal or a herd or goats or anything else, MS doesn't care).
So, it turns out that Microsoft doesn't require a credit card after all, just some form of legit payment to cover purchases in the store.
Also, it completely makes sense that they ask for this on the web site, as this blocks bots and helps establish purchasers as actual humans with legit accounts. You can claim the games without verifying any payment method on an XBox, which makes sense because they can confirm that the request is coming from a legit device over which the customer has physical control.
What interesting is that, at least in the US, Steam has fewer payment options that Microsoft does. 😅

You're right, if you go manually add a payment method to Steam via the account options, you only get the credit card options.
This is probably because PayPal, iDeal and others are not a card, they're an external website that requires an external login, so it can't be added to your account. (Google did it slightly differently by asking users to allow Google as a trusted source in Paypal's settings, but Valve didn't go that route for security reasons.)
But you don't need to add a payment method to your account to pay on Steam. You can select your payment method on checkout, and this gives several more options. :)
When you simply go to the store, add a product to your cart, and then go to the checkout, you get several more choices, including Paypal, iDeal(Dutch bank transfer method), WebMoney, PaySafeCard, VISA, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and something called Skrill. (This also applies to adding funds to the Steam Wallet)
You can tell Steam to save the payment method on checkout, and it will add that method to your payment methods in your account, including Paypal and iDeal.

Ah, good to know. Being in the States, I always just used a credit card (I mean, I earn 2% that goes into a college fund for my kids, which further earns interest tax-deferred...so yeah, I put everything on it, and just pay it off in full every month - I don't spend money that I don't have :) ), so I never really noticed those other options since they were never presented. Since I set up a card first thing, when I go to add money, I just click on my pre-configured payment method and the money goes in. That explains a lot of the difference in my experience.
It's good to know that Steam has that level of flexibility. And, I think, the main point here is that Microsoft actually does as well, and that there was entirely too much negative reaction to them giving people a free game. There are multiple ways of setting up non-credit-card payments on one's Microsoft account, as well as the capability to claim the game with no payment method set up if you do it from an XBox. Seems pretty fair when they're giving us free stuff. 😀
Thanks for the clarification, BTW...that was excellent.

Their form for adding a credit card appears to be broken, anyway: It just keeps dumping me back to the starting page without any kind of confirmation/error message. As amusing as it is to see that even Microsoft can screw up a free game promotion, it does in fact feel rather in-character for them [at least within this post-Windows 10/post-Microsoft Store era].

I think y'all clearly don't have XBox Live Gold. 😉😎
You need a card just for your store account (it's associated with your general MS account, and works in the Windows store, XBox store, and blah blah blah). Once you have it set up, claiming games actually works well. The 360 stuff is a little wonky because it's an older system that's still laying around, because they've chosen to continue to support the old 360 systems. Anyway, you don't have to set it up in the 360 screens...those are old and really suck. Just go to account.microsoft.com and get all of your stuff straight there. You can manage all payment types, Office 365 subscriptions, XB Live Gold...pretty much everything there. Once you have that worked out, any free game claims should be pretty much smooth sailing going forward.
But it will work fine...I go through this twice a month to claim my Games with Gold. Backward compatibility works like a champ on all of these old games, so now I've amassed something like 120 360 games over the past 2-3 years that I can play on my XB1. Actually pretty cool.

Worked for me. I’ve debated picking up a 360. It should be very cheap now and I got digital copies of Gears 1-3 when I bought 4. Would be fun to play those. Thanks for sharing!

Glad i use PC for gaming ,huge amount of games are literally obsolete unless you can keep an old console running.

Epic gave MS permission to gave the game away, so epic is now a good guy?

Well, too bad my Xbox 360 decided to die last week. Now I won't get to play this to appreciate how big a pile if shit ot really is.
from what I've heard, read and seen, the game is not any good. so....

Sorry to hear that. Older model that was expected to die far sooner, or a more recent model?

Ahh Too Human. Great concept plagued by poor execution. X-Men Destiny though...terrible.

I played a bit of X-Men on PS3, it was playable but nothing special. I've seen worse.

To be fair, it is a different game there. I wonder if that one was even destroyed, it wasn't an Unreal Engine game after all.

The DLC and themes were added later. When I got the game free, it had nothing available.

I didn't. Might need to switch to your region store at worst since I've had to for some games, though my redemption on this went through even with the US store.

Yeah, few people here will care about XBox 360 games, but I know some people jumped on the free Crackdown games. Now they can jump on one of the games that helped kill Silicon Knights, together with X-Men: Destiny.
