Query on multiple accounts

So, a friend of mine is going on an extended vacation from the internet in general and left his Steam account in my care, as a long time user of SG, I was curious if I would be in trouble if I continued entering giveaways for his account on his behalf?

Technically, if you hadn't said anything, nobody would have known. Regardless, just let the account take a hiatus. So he misses a few more chances for The Ship Complete and Toki Tori, it won't hurt him.

Well they can do IP matching and that, it won't be the first account suspended for alts.

No big deal, do it. As long as he has games to back up the legitimacy of his account, you should be out of trouble. Why do I say this? There are two accounts sharing my IP, both active on SG. And I've never gotten into trouble.

i only intended to enter giveaways for his account so he might have a surprise when he got back, I wasn't planning to use it as a second chance at giveaways myself if that's what people though.

Then look for him on the side, he will have a golden star. Once you find him right clikc and send a message :)

Hey Raiden, my friend was deployed overseas for the next year, can I enter giveaways on his account as well?

If you allow one person to do this, you're going to have allow everyone to do it. Then you must verify that it's legit and not someone trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

That would be account sharing which is against Steam TOS. You are not allowed to use multiple accounts to enter giveaways here so it would be against the rules too.

If we allow you to do it, then everyone will be "taking care of an account for their friend" and entering with multiple accounts.
