I can't pick my own charity, I have to chose between the two provided, neither of witch I've seen before. Why would they possibly do that?
I can still do it with the other bundle, it's not like they got rid of the feature.

Money goes directly to Assassins' community to fight Templars!

Fondly enough, the only reasons I can come up with myself are conspiracy theories like that.

Personally I think it's fair enough for Ubi to choose the charities involved. I mean they're the ones donating millions and millions by giving their games away for nothing. It's nice when you can choose your own charities, but I won't loose sleep over my money going to children with cancer.

Agreed. If I can't give it all to one of these charities, I skip it: http://www.givewell.org/charities/top-charities

Call me a heartless bastard if you want but I don't give a damn about what says on that page that x% of my money ends up to y charity. Each week I see on TV that z charity scammed its benefactors by t amount. So, I learned to be selfish and only care about the discount I get for the game I'm interested in. If the money really gets to that charity and something good comes out of it then great, that's a bonus. Otherwise I presume some of it or all of it ends up by some scheme in someone's pockets only not the intended ones.

Yeah, let me share a funny story about charity stuff.
I've made a social experiment a while ago with 14 distinct homeless persons from three distinct cities begging for money to buy food. Each time they asked for money to buy bread or something else. So next time I stopped by them I brought them what they asked for, just not the money, only the product. And each time I was cursed and they acted like dickheads because they only wanted money nothing else. So, yeah, 14 people do not represent the whole charity business but this should rise a question sign for those naive enough to believe the charity business is only about helping people. It's not, it's about collecting money. Cheers!

Meh, who cares. That doesn't affect the reality tough. Most charities are scams, as much as I'd like for them to be true.

Yeah... My friend's mom once bought a sandwich for a homeless guy who was begging outside a grocery store and he scowled at her and said, "ugh I don't like black forest ham." Though he still took it.
Are you fucking kidding me? I mean, yeah, some beggars aren't like that and genuinely need help... buuut experiences/stories like that really dishearten me about trying to help people sometimes.

one of the more interesting experiences I've had was where I offered half my sandwich to a homeless person and he refused. He then told me he could get all the food he needed at the shelter, that it was his own fault that he was homeless, and that he used to be a substance abuser, but now he'd reached the point where he just wanted money to go home.

I've had conversations with other homeless people / beggars, and I will never give any money OR food (absent a really odd story). Although, I did give money to someone who was rummaging through garbage collecting recyclables. He worked hard, so he deserved it.

I contacted them about that and they said they fixed it. They may have meant specifically for my account, I suppose- just contact them yourself to sort it out, it necessary.

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting us. I apologize for the delay in this response.
You should now be able to choose your desired charity for the Assassin's Creed bundle. On the bottom of the bundle page, click the Choose where your money goes arrow, click on the underlined charity, and do a search for the desired charity. Please refer to the attached screenshot.
Please let me know if you continue to experience any issues.

Otherwise, any time they lock the charity I just put 100% of my contribution to those charities- since clearly Humble and the Publisher really want to support the charities in question, so who am I to not help them fully support that gesture? :X

I just noticed something unsettling about the Humble AC Bundle.

Yes, the lack of Black Flag. Screw you Ubisoft. ;_;

I think the fact that there are no steam keys is the most unsettling thing about it
