It will be only visible on already ended giveaways. Not on those that are still open.
So if you want to double check if you pasted right key before sending it to the winner - you will need to wait for giveaway to end. Otherwise Unrenowned advice applies.

Wouldn't it be too late? I'm sure there are good reasons, but would you mind explaining why wouldn't it be more beneficial to everyone involved (not to mention simple) to have the ability to manage keys of an ongoing GA?

I don't know, that's how it was designed when site admin added ability to paste keys on the giveaway page.
It is not possible to change any details regarding giveaways when it's running (game, ending time, number of copies, regional locks, version), so it may be also locked by default.
