The first console in my home if I can remember was the NES, and another unknown, I still play consoles.

Try get Super Mario World, I loved it when I was younger, and was frightened by Super Metroid, but that is also worth a pick up!

Don't worry; since Nintendo is the only one that tries to move the console industry forward instead of re-releasing the exact same system with a little better hardware, with the exact same controller, and the exact same games with slightly updated graphics but same gameplay, sticking with them will not lower you to the dirty console peasant crowd.

Bleh, get a system I've owned so I can tell you all the games you need to get. :P

My first console was the Magnavox Odyssey2. My second one was the Colecovision, which I still have. Haven't owned one since.

i think i have my old snes around, but the controllers are totally destroyed. i couldn't find a good dealer that sells originals.

some games you should play:
super mario rpg (this is one of the most entertaining games for snes)
castlevania dracula x (awesome platformer)
yoshi's island (i love it <3 )

My first console was Pegasus. It was a hardware clone of NES. What funny thing in it is that from ~ 1991 to 1997 in Poland almost nobody had oryginal NES ;p
