Hey everyone.

So, I've been on here for a week now and have learnt it's customary to spam a giveaway with thanks. Would certainly be easier for all involved to just have a Thank You button instead of having to type thanks all the time, or at least not have to scroll through loads of pages to find some meaningful comments.

Maybe it's just me...

This was discussed so many times now. Check other topics, I'm pretty sure you'll find a similiar topic on a first couple of pages on the forums.

Is like forum initiation to post about the thank you button, or how there should be an inventory verification to make giveaways, or how you should be able to give individual keys from bundles, etc. etc.

It's been already suggested. I don't remember if the Mods commented on the idea or not, but most of the community...well on the forums were against it.

Yeah, whatever. People say a thanks button is too indecent and thanks should come from the bottom of ones heart/wallet, other people say they're tired of THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU and want a simple button with a counter. And that's pretty much it - everyone involuntarily agreed to disagree with each others position and leave the things the way they are now.

If its too hard for you to write few simple letters for a chance to receive free game maybe this community isn't the right for you. As a giveaway contributor i don't see any problem with numerous "thank you" but thats just me

I imagine every "thanks" as representation of a different person with their hopes, dreams and goals which they're totally unrelated to the giveaways. I try to visualise the moment when they typed simple "thank you" and what was going through their minds at that point (because clearly we can concentrate on more things than one) and where do they see themselves in 10 years from now. Thanks isn't obligatory in any of my giveaways but it enables me to connect with human beings a little more.

Dont think about the word itself, think about the person who's writing it, think about the fact that he can be a US resident, Mexican, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, French, or whatever, think about the fact that a stranger is actually saying thanks, appreciating what you're doing, even if he doesnt win.

That is the reason i took a stance of saying thank you, or a nice comment on every giveaway i enter, or every group giveaway i see, even if i dont enter it, because if i make a giveaway, i would be very happy to see the face of that dude/girl with a big smile, because i gave him something, without any real reason.

Hey everyone.

So, I've been on here for 7 months now and have learnt it's customary to spam a thread with inside jokes. Would certainly be easier for all involved to just have a 'replace the key for the key steam steam' button instead of having to type it all the time, or at least not have to scroll through loads of pages to find some puzzle giveaways.

Maybe it's just me...

Many on the forums here are just against for the sake of beeing against it.

A "Thank you" Button along with showing the Thank yous as a counter, would be a great improvement and the comments could be used for something useful like talking about the game or something else.
But well, not gonna happen as long as certain 2-3 trolls are around who think they represent the majority of the community.

This isn't Facebook. I don't want a bloody like button on my giveaways.

The hilarious thing, though, is that, if there WAS a like button, it STILL would be too much work for some people.

To me, the whole point of not having a "Thank you" button is to show who isn't lazy and/or greedy.
If you can't even bother to type "thanks" and hit the submit button, I personally don't think you should win. But this isn't my site, I'm nothing more than the average user and my opinion is only my own.

Besides, what really is the point of a "Thank you" button? By reducing it to a button you can so absently and blindly press, it takes all the meaning out of the sentiment.
I also like how you're essentially calling people who doesn't agree with you trolls, troll.

The "Enter to Win" button IS the thank you button. Your name even appears in the "Thanks List" aka "Entries"

Because it separates people who actually take the time to say it and those who can't be bothered.
