Is it any good? And would I be lost story-wise if I haven't played the first two?

Imho the best one is the first one, played it back then on my xbox360!
And storywise the third one is playing before the first one, so you don't need to play the others.
Chronological order is 3rd game, 1st game, 2nd game

Is there any tie in to the first and second game? For example, references that I wouldn't get, characters I wouldn't know? It may be a prequel, but I'd be surprised (in a good way) if it were completely standalone... since I don't really intend to play the others.

And is it any good? :-D
