Honestly, of all the big companies that would be bidding on THQ, I'd be HAPPY if it was Ubi that got the big IPs. I don't like UPlay. And if they go back to their always on drm, which they finally realized was a failure, I'd definately think differently. But at the moment, they aren't using that drm scheme, and the titles they've been putting out have been mostly quality. And they aren't EA, Capcom, Or ActiBlizz.

Deep Silver is owned by a pretty large media company from Europe called Koch Media that does DVD, movie, and game distribution all over there. That company would be the one with the capital for bidding, and Deep Silver is just their game publishing house I guess. Their wiki says they have published 200 games in the past decade. They are Nintendo's preferred publisher in Europe, previously published THQ games, Guild Wars 2 was distributed by them in Europe, etc. I saw a list of their other partners somewhere but I can't find it now.

The auction hearing time got shifted another 6 hours, to 3pm Eastern because bidding was still active when it was supposed to close. Neogaf has a thread going with info and updates.
Sega would be a good match with Relic (I think), Crytek and Homefront is a no-brainer because they are working on the sequel. The Ubisoft + South Park match could still run into trouble because South Park Studios is suing THQ now for breach of contract so the rights for that game may not actually even be available when it is all said and done. Deep Silver's parent company (Koch Media) is said to have won the publisher rights to Turtle Rock's new game, and they along with Warner Brothers, EA, and Ubisoft are all said to be bidding heavily on different parts and franchises at this point.
I am most interested to see what happens with the DoW franchises since there are licensing contracts in the way there, and also what happens with Volition because I want Saints Row to continue to be as awesome as it has been and I also want Red Faction to come back closer to the originals or Guerrilla after THQ ran it into the ground with Armageddon.

Well, since its pretty far along in development the new COH will get made at least most likely.

Yep, I'm totally okay with this. Mostly because of playing Binary Domain (turned off the stupid voice thing...) and enjoying it, and also needing to play Alpha Protocol because of most everything I've heard about it. And the Total War series.
It's a shame about THQ, but this seems like it could work.

The CoH franchises definitely go with Relic but the Warhammer ones may not have been part of it since those may have been on a contract from GamesWorkshop only for THQ. They may not have had the rights to pass them along in a sale at all. It would make sense for GamesWorkshop to follow Relic since they did a good job with Space Marine and the DoW games but I don't think it is 100% that they have to.

Was Sega's Warhammer license not just for Fantasy. Either way since they already have at least that half and have now taken on Relic as well it would make sense for the 40K license to also end up with Sega.
