What's happened to winners of obvious fake giveaways?

I rarely seen any stories here from a people that whining because giveaway they won is obvious fake. You know, those big COD and other AAA game giveaways that are made by people who just registered and don't even know how the site work yet.
Are Support handling them the winners directly?
