Clarification on group template and rules:

This group Private Contributors Events was used as the template for creating my group. If you poke around in there you will get a good idea of how things will operate. However there were some issues that presented itself with the current rules of that group so I have tweaked them to what I believe to be a better and more fair system. Below I go into further detail as to why such a rule was changed based on my experiences:

"You MUST giveaway a combined total of 20p worth of software during an event to be eligible"
In the group above it was an unwritten rule that you should give (at least) a game that is worth around $20 or 20p. It does not mean you need to spend $20 of real money to obtain this however. If you give two indie games valued at 9.99 (10p each) that will give you the 20p requirement for the event and if you used a sale it will not cost you the full value to do so.

Also there were a few incidents when somebody would give away a couple indie games worth 9.99 and other members would chastise them for "low balling". A gift of "System Shock 2" can be just as sought after as "Bioshock Infinite" and I do not want members to feel bad if they cannot extend the same generosity from a monetary standpoint. As long as the game is not bundled and your total gift giving meets or exceeds the 20p requirement you're good. Some examples of how to get the 20p value required:

eg1) Hitman Absolution (24.99 or 25p) = 20p requirement met (buying it on Amazon right now means you would have to only spend $5 of real world money.
eg2) System Shock 2 (two copies given at 9.99 or 10p each) = 20p requirement met.

"post in the event discussion thread which games you intend to give"
This is being done because quite a few times multiple people would rush to buy the latest greatest deal to giveaway and since there is a no duplicate rule it meant several people would have spent money on a game they can no longer give during the event due to another member posting it first. This is a bad feeling and can/has caused some anger. By "claiming" the gift creation spot first no money goes out prematurely and gives others a much clearer picture of what they can spend money on to meet the event requirement.

I want to also point out that I have been a member of this site for awhile now and am a fully grown man. This group is made in the spirit of SteamGifts and is NOT for personal gain (I can fully afford to purchase games I really want for myself to dispel these kinds of groups are only made to give the admins a greater chance of winning). Anyone in this group will have an equal chance and I WELCOME suggestions to improve the system

Thanks =)

Currently (aside from the group creation event) I think we'll start with the following:

Christmas/New Years (Winter Sale)
Valentine's Day
Spring Event (April)
Summer Sale
Halloween

More could be added later if the group prefers. I do not want to do one more than once a month however.

I've added some clarification to the original post, hopefully it helps. Sorry I probably shouldn't have done this up quick before bed but I wanted to get the ball rolling.

Your rules seem somewhat confusing..

But from what I get, you require people to give non-bundle games for at least 20 bucks in that event and you are planning to give 2 copies of forge?! sounds like an awezum group xD
