There's over 800 report tickets that are open currently dating back up to 9 years ago, I think there's ones from SG support members that are open too. Sometimes the report is reviewed and nothing comes of it and sometimes something is done. A LOT of times obviously it's just left open when they should be closed.
I'm not go to address any tickets here, I'm simply listing about the large amount of report tickets that are open and that obviously the vast majority of them(likely 99%)should be closed.

I have problems to understand this part fully.
What did you mean with obviously a lot of times the tickets left open when they should be closed?
From my understanding the tickets get closed when a ticket are handled, which means looked into, checked as example for multiaccouting/autojoining/insults etc. and then a decission to do something or that it wasn't against a rule follow. After a punishment happened or don't happened the ticket get closed.
So for me aren't obvious why a lot of user report tickets are left open when they should be closed.

I am sure the users would prefer to get them handled and not only closed :-D

What I mean is sometimes the support rep forgets to close them when they are completed. For example I've handled user reports before and delivered a suspension and forgot to close the ticket, it happens.
I'm positive there's plenty of tickets open for users reports that came in for the same user for the exact same thing where a suspension was given and one ticket was closed, but the others were left open. I've seen cases like this before awhile ago when I was active and went in closed the others.

Thanks for the explanation.
Now it is clear what you mean.
Yes, i think such cases exist but i don't think that they would be the majority of the 800+ open user report tickets.
And to be honest, i see it as bad work when a mod don't check if other tickets exists for the same case. Because it make the staff team unneccessary more work in the end.
Off course such tickets can come in after the mod handled the case but i don't believe that such tickets are the majority in such cases.

TBH I shouldn't have even stated that percent as it's likely not anywhere near realistic. lol

You are lucky with only 2 years :-D
Look at mine. The oldest with 5 years is about harassment, https://www.steamgifts.com/support/ticket/J5309/.
Should the involved user(s) suspended for it ? Yes.
Is it important anymore after 5 years ? No.
Was it a good experience for the victim(s) ? No.
Would the suspension have a good teaching effect for the rule breakers ? No. Not 5 years later.
Right now around 8% of the open user report tickets are from me (a sign?).
The mods handle user reports ticket only when they are about begging, advertising, not activated wins or multiple wins.
Each other one stack up and get, most likely, never handled.
I seen, not long ago, how someone got suspended for making a tantrum in a discussion where his group got attacked.
The suspension was, maybe, earned but weeks later the attacking discussion with all the insults are still open and that user (that always appear on sg with such insult discussions and nothing else) is still not suspended. The tickets to this case are of course still open too.
I have problems to understand why a mod look into a discussion, see someones comments as suspension worthy but don't handle other tickets to the same case and don't suspended all the other involved users.
Doesn't look for me as equal handling of tickets.
I don't know if cg is the problem, that only 3(?) mods really handle tickets in a visible amount or whatever else.
And to be honest, i am at a point where i don't care anymore which reason(s) are the problem(s) that lead to the actual situation.
It's laughable but not in a positive way.
Ps.: I am thankful for the few mods that really handle tickets in a visible amount.
But they fight on a lost position and know it. Which makes me sad (for them).

I had one open for four years, and then it was just closed with nothing done. That user called me out in the forums, making stuff up and got me a bunch of blacklists. He was upset I didn't like him attacking me for no reason on Steam and blocking him. It's against the rules, but you can do what you want if rules aren't enforced I guess.
I don't really care about the blacklists, it's the principle. Of course, I've learned to just ignore stupid stuff on here. Block someone if they bother you and forget about it. You'll be happier.

Hey, it could be worse. It could be that the support users would close tickets against themselves instead of doing the proper and honest thing and let someone else handle it.... oh wait, that did happen and tells you everything you need to know about some of the support at least.
Anyways I have a 3 year old ticket open that I don't think will ever be resolved and there have been many that hit 2+ years before they were. If you want to have something done you basically need to go beg someone for it and even then its not gonna work always. My honest suggestion is forget about it and have extremely low hopes for any other tickets you might have or you will be utterly dissapointed.
Edit: just checked, that ticket will be 4 years old in 4 days, happy early cake day to the ticket!

My oldest report is over 4 years.
But what I see as more interesting is way of solving tickets. There is person who regularly harras and insult prople in LGTBQ thread. I reported him like three times over years. It always got closed and never with suspension. On the other hand once there was a guy that called me nazi for something. Same day he got week suspension. I am not 100% sure if it was for that ( in discord group people said they are reporting it, cause it is insult), but it seemed quite weird. I haven't even considered it as insult compared to other case I mentioned that was ignored.

At least some of those are left open because a mod thinks the user won't post another request on the same topic if it's left open.
And at least one mod will leave them open long enough for them to no longer be applicable, because he likes to, for example, moderate requests to review his decisions on suspensions. CYA type stuff. He'll then close them if he remembers. But he probably forgets from time to time.
The rest are likely just neglect or general forgetfulness.

Does anybody else have a support ticket open for over 2 years? Instead of making this thread, should I have made another support ticket about my original support ticket being lost/forgotten/ignored?
