Since the thread worked like a charm I was hoping I could hijack it, 'cause I'm also looking for a game! This is what I remember:
- I played it when I was pretty young so I'd say later half of the 90s/earky 2000s
- It was a pc game
- I think it was a point and click adventure
- you were a member of this tribe who wore only a a red loincloth (at least that's how I remember it)
- The plot was about someone stealing away the night and you had to find it back
- there was a scene where you had the night with in you in a sack, but a cheetah ripped the sack and the night escaped

Edit. Huh, that's a plateformer and not a point & clicky. Also, it's probably older than the game you're looking for, it came out in 1994. Plus... I don't think there's anything about the Night being stolen. Sorry. False hope.

Been bugging me for a while, but I vaguely remember the Steam game trailer, just not the name of the game.
