Is this a good poem (sorry no GA)

I don't know much about your topic but I thought it was pretty good. I liked your pacing too, it was very good.

Is prose considered poem? I was expecting something more traditional...
Not gonna vote, I was never much into "word arts" so would likely be wrong.

It seems quite direct for my taste of poetry. BTW, I might be mistaken, but from what I remember the usual pacing of the reading in poetry is dictated by its punctuations and line/stanza breaks.

What you have used is called free verse, knowingly or otherwise. It's quite common in postmodern poetry, so don't worry about the unconventional ryhming and tempo, it's acceptable. The acceptability of the other part of the poem (which is the sentences themselves, etc.) however entirely depends on your age and the stage of your current education.

Like raziel said, it's very direct and to the point. You could have used some metaphors and symbols to spice up the poem. And also, being direct is alright at times, but it gets tougher as you get more direct. I suggest you look into imagism and the works of Ezra Pound in particular. If you could emulate his style, you could really tell a story with even fewer words, creating much more striking images in the minds of the reader.
