I absolutely love this site. Why is it so cheap though? When it has sales it has them at, so far that I've noticed, the same prices as a sale price on steam. Not only that, they always have a 20%-25% voucher running at the same time making it cheaper than steam. How can they make profit from this? Little, if any i presume. Steam have trading cards which they make a shit load of money from so they can afford to make a game cheaper. Plus, GMG has GMG credit which can be obtained simply from earning achievements. Granted, this doesn't stack with vouchers.

Also, anybody feel that they force the vouchers on you? I'm not complaining but i get regular emails of their new voucher expiring in a few days to get a another email of their new voucher expiring...ect you get the idea. They always have vouchers.

Its like a furniture store. They always have a sale on because it plays on the customer's mind.

GMG "cheap" (I'm from Europe)

As am i. I know it's more expensive than other countries but if you exclude that then it's cheaper than steam in general.

Not really, GMG used to be good, like 2 years ago, now they offer you deals worse than Steam, with that 20% you can make it better, but still Steam gives you better deals, is not the case of everything, some games are actually cheaper, but still GMG is not really a cheap store, but Nuuvem is.

Also UK and Europe have different prices.

Parts of Europe get UK prices in GMG, which is for the most part, but not always, better than regular EU-prices.

Ah. Didn't know that! I thought all of Europe was more or less the same!

In Argentina is cheaper....

Final fantasy xiii-2 was 10 or 11 here...before steam got it at that price..or higher price i think...

Argentina uses $, we use €, but still 2 years ago before GMG did that shit about obligating everyone from Europe paying with €, they used to have really great deals, the deal it self was better than on Steam + you could use a 30% off to make it even better. And I used to buy in $ back then.

GMG and their discount coupons... Man, am I the only one who sees that the most of the time they have some decent coupons, it's not really applicable to the newer titles for the most part and even if it's applicable to newer titles the price is still so high you could actually get the game cheaper somewhere else? Also newer titles being on sale is rarity and when newer titles are on such sale, their prices are still too high and usually there is no decent coupon to be found to reduce the price a bit more and if there is any coupon, most of the time it's not applicable on that newer title that is currently on sale, so in the end, their prices are not exactly the best in general and somehow they are mostly higher than in other stores even with those discounts and sales.

Sometimes , at least in the past, they had several titles with higher base-prices compared to steam...so even 25% less might not be really less :-)

I bought a couple of games from them during Steam's winter sale because those games were cheaper at GMG (notably, Wolfenstein:TNO). And, it's not like there was incentive to spend multiples of $10 on Steam just for the extra trading cards, during this sale...

Yeah, this sale was poop haha. Gem making wasn't even that good an event. Another money grab on steams part. Plus the trading cards had zero value, even my foil went for nothing.

there is no reason, unless you already have the steam wallet, not to buy new games you want for 22-25% off on GMG....

Yep! I got Shadow of Mordor when it first came out with the discount. Granted it's been sold for up to 50% off now but it's still great for new games.

I'm in France and GMG isn't cheap at all, it's at best the Steam prices. It used to but it changed since a year or so. Plus that voucher only work if you buy a minimum of 10€; so you're forced to buy, say 4 games on sale at 2.5€ which nukes any impulse buy want. And those "amazing" prices you see are all games that have been bundled a gazillion times, being sold at four times the price of the bundle they were in! So now I'm stuck with a couple of Euros in my Playfire account and nothing to spend them on.

^ This
Exactly the same for me, earned about 10 euros by chance in playfire about a year ago ( I forgot I ever signed up for it yet it kept tracking my progress) and in all that time the only game that had a good enough discount for my taste and hasn't been in a bundle was Xcom Enemy within, still sitting on the left over 5 euros and every time I check their deals it's either pre-orders, brand new games with a slight discount, bundle games or games that are way pricier then they are on steam, none of which i'm really interested in.

I used to shop regularly at GMG but after Steam introduce the new currency (MYR for me), everything is so much cheaper at the Steam store compared to any other site (even after discounts). It's a good place to buy games though, never had any problems there.

I'm from US so prices are better on GMG with the 20-25 discount codes for new titles. I'm ready to get GTA V from them, although there have been rumors of it not being a steam key. Would be nice to be on steam but for cheaper price I don't mind much.

Even with sale + coupon it's cheaper to buy in steam directly, because of regional pricing. So, probably GMG is useful only for US.

Well, I hate that sometimes some of their games are not for steam but for Playfire Client. Anyway it has good price with the extra voucher, too bad that you can't both use it and playfire credit.

There is only one good deal there in every 1000 deals, prices are basically around steam prices or higher.

I bought 3 VIP deals in december or something because they were actually worth it at the time, i compared with other stores. Plus i had 7 bucks to throw out aswell, which made the triple deal even more worthwhile. Around 30 bucks for The evil within + wolfestein the new order + rome total war 2.

Offers the same prices with steam in my region even with coupons, i bought 15+ games 1 year ago from them, most steam keys and some mmo's, i didnt have a problem until i contact them for support and was a bad experience. They dont try to help you but to get rid of you.

Recently bought a game that not included in steam sale but didnt see that needs Playfire Client, something i never installed or going to install in the future, immediately asked for gmg credit refund and they said they cant do anything about it from the time i recieved the key, a key that never going to be used anywhere on game or playfire for activation... just for show. Atleast i helped the developer to buy a coffee.

They're good for me in the UK, probably back to being the best authorised key seller that I'm supposed to shop at (technically I shouldn't be use Nuuvem or Amazon US).

Gamefly took them over as #1 for me when GMG was really pushing the Playfire rewards. At the time GMG were focusing a lot on the rewards their vouchers became a bit crap with minimum spends, the % off seemed to decrease and you couldn't use credit with vouchers anyway. Now that they're not giving away as much through Playfire the better vouchers are back. I prefer that overall.

In the meantime, Direct2Drive took over the running of Gamefly and they don't seem to be doing vouchers anymore since they did plus their sales seem to be less often too. That's gone right down my list.

I've never used Amazon US in fear keys will not work/be revoked since it says that it's for US customers only. I've been tempted many times since they have great deals sometimes! I used Nuuvem for the first time yesterday and i like it! :)
