Should I be allowed to freely give others the gift of porn?
The site is for users age 16+.
GA's games are "often" age 18+ (mostly because of killing, cutting/slicing bodies, a lot of blood and so on, lets say short gore to it). No age check, filter or anything at sg.
Now, maybe, more Pixel Titties/Pussy's/Dicks come, in a more explicit (not blurred and so on) way then before, to steam and sg + other sites and the world stand on the head ?
I don't think that something must be done.
I would prefer that my son will see sexual things then he see how a human will splattered from a grenade in a game.
We are all born because of sexuality and it is a natural thing. Killing people in a sensational way isn't..
Don't get me wrong i like gore in games when it is as example a fighting game because it fits to it but i like sexual things too when it fits in -did the people liked sexual stuff in the Witcher 3 as example?- and i don't like censored stuff in general. When they make a age or mental health check for ALL stuff is it ok. When they make special rules for sexual things it isn't
Anyone that have problems with that type of content can hide each game by there personal taste. THE SAME WAY AS BEFORE with all games that have gore, don't fit your liked genres, shows blurred pixel titties or whatever else.

If there's actual penetration and genitalia being depicted SG (and/or Steam) could be in danger of a criminal offense for distributing pornography in some countries.

That would be steam problem, more than SG. Also, you can buy right now hentai games with penetration and genitalia in múltiple digital outlets. Never heard of any trouble.

If you enable pornography to be delivered to minors then it's your problem. There's no excuse for saying "but I don't supply the content, I only give means to access it"
Depending on the stores and countries there will be various age verification services employed. If actual pornography were to be allowed on steam they would have to verify the age of the buyer. SG would have to check wether the recipient of a key is under-age or not. It all depends on the counties involved, their laws and interest if criminal proceedings were started.

Again, there are múltiple companies selling adult visual novels. Never heard any of them running into trouble.
There is simply no way of actually making sure you are an adult or not on the Internet. Nsfw tag? Yeah, that totally keep minors off. Age verification? Sure. And everybody in steam was born in january 1. I don't even know, and won't ever know, if you are LittleBilbo1, or his little brother after the other left the computer on.

The Steam store has finally now become like the internet in general: 99% crap.
Regarding the explicit sexual content, I'm against censorship but I shouldn't be forced to be confronted with it either on the Steam store or on SG so I'm all in for a nsfw tag and it'd go even further by adding a check box in the preferences to hide them all automatically.
Now that I think of it, maybe there should be a way to filter GAs by tags just like you can filter games on Steam.

Nothing bad will happen. If anything, more games will just include some nudity. Good games will get better. Terrible games will keep popping up.
If murder, torture, genocide and other such twisted stuff is fine, then why isn't this? In the DLC for the first Outlast, you saw a man rape another man's corpse.
If that was allowed before, then watching some more normal porn is also fine.
Plus, nudity was still available. It's just that the acts couldn't be shown on camera.
I'm happy that sexuality will be perhaps shunned a bit less now.

As german i pretty much agree on the "eh, gore is worse than sexual content" stance.
Showing some nudity or even badly depicted erotic is far from what actual gore and violence offers in terms of "mental danger to kids". Yet many readily accept violence in their world without a second thought. The issues rather arise when both get mixed and you get a mixture of rape, sexual mutilation and stuff, something where i rather blame the violence than sexual content tho.
To me, the question is rather "what do you rather want to have in your life, sex or violence?".
Make a filter for gore and sexual content and then let people filter each of them here in SG. That seems to be the best solution to me.
So people who want no filter at all can view it, people who want both filtered can have it and people who want to filter just one of them can have it too.

With Valve's recent decision to allow games with sexual content to be sold on Steam, and games such as Boobs Saga releasing on the near horizon; I'm curious how websites like this one will react when Valve opens the floodgates. I can only assume there will be an influx of cheaply made porn games selling for dirt cheap that will eventually make their way to giveaway sites in hordes, and with one of the rules on SG being "Piracy, pornography, and other material that may be inappropriate to a general audience should not be posted to the site", I'd assume that rule would have to be tweaked or just ignored in this context.
Sure, we already have hentai puzzles and the like, but I'd think actual flash game sex simulators could be a little different, or maybe not. I'm all for A/O games, adults should be able to play and pay for what they want and it could bring out some actually good games with an A/O rating, I believe currently the only A/O game on Steam is Hatred. Sorry if this post is dumb, I'm just legitimately curious what kind of effect it could end up having on sites like SteamGifts.
