Do you gift more during sales?

Yes, on a mixture of games. Sometimes cheap garbage, sometimes wishlisted games, sometimes cheaper but at least still quite good games. Depends what mood I'm in at sale time or how wealthy I'm feeling.

I buy more but I normally use it months later because I always feel when there's currently a good sale there's lots of those GAs anyway so I wait until they get rarer again.

Yeah, apparently if there's a good sale I just can't help but to take advantage and buy things. Then I look at them and go "but I don't want/have time to play this!" and that's how a giveaway is made.
