The May Choice doesn't start until in an hour and twenty minutes. Not sure what you did but if you manually bought it on May 1st, you bought the April one. And the auto-charge date, in case you didn't properly skip, was April 26th.
In any case you should contact Humble support, if you feel something went wrong.

No in April I paused the month right away at the launch of the bundle because it didn't interest me.
Today when I went to check for some key, I didn't have the "You are skipping April 2022 month" I had nothing and found that weird, then I went on choice and it was last month bundle.
I returned in the setting and it was set as resumed, I had to select "skip a month" for the message stating I'm skipping April here again.

If you weren't charged anything on the auto-charge day April 26th, it wasn't resumed. Again: contact Humble support if you feel something is wrong.
My guess would be that the status was reset a bit early for the upcoming May choice, but as long as they didn't charge you any money for it, which they already would have done on April 26th, there is no actual problem.

I need to triple check that one, because after I skipped today, it offered me to resume.. For April..
This may be an UI issue but it wouldn't be the first time the new Humble thingy bamboozled us in a way or another. Excuse the panicked message, it was in case someone else was in the same situation, and it's not like we still have a week to check and wait for the customer service answer. My intention was just "hey check if you have the same issue"

Yeah, I read that. They also wrote that they weren't charged and that they - like myself - "suspect, the automatic resume was just a bit early, which is not a big deal since still it happened after the auto-charge date last Tuesday".
I am btw. not defending the Humble UI. It is bad in many ways. But this is also at least partially a misunderstanding of the different dates and runtimes. The fact that AFTER the auto-charge date you were able to (again) skip April made it clear, that you weren't falslely charged money or a credit. You wouldn't have been able to do that, if they had charged you, because then you would have already owned the April games.
I bought it yesterday with a coupon after having cancelled in the beginning of April. And I tried to skip after reading your post and it clearly already said "skip May", even though the May choice didn't start yet.

The crazy thing is that, it actually now says that it will resume at the right date ! I clearly don't have the same UI or issue, I took a screenshot moment ago and what do you see ? Now it says it will resume May 3rd. You can check the hour to see that it's legit, we're May 3rd and I'm living in CEST timezone.

"Skip a month" button displays even if you already paused the current month.
I just checked after having paused earlier this month.

When I went to the choice option, it asked me to choose the game, after I skipped April AGAIN, the message was changed to resume now
I took a screenshot where you can see the date in full on the top right http://prntscr.com/HukhXxoeoskf

To be clear for everyone:
That has not changed - Right? Auto charge would've happened last Tuesday.
When I paused for April earlier in the month, Humble email told me:
Your membership will automatically pick back up on May 3, 2022.
Are you concerned that before May 3, your billing date changed to May 31, 2022 or something?
IIRC, that billing date bump happens as soon as hitting pause. Furthermore, I cannot pre-emptiness pause May until the May bundle comes out.

The situation was odd, I guess I shall explain it again properly.
I am currently charged every 3 months, the next time I'll be charged will be in June 2022.
I did pause April the day of the launch because the bundle didn't interest me. I did have the blue "you are skipping Humble Choice for April" until today.
I went to the choice thinking I missed the launched, it asked me to choose my games which were April's games.
I returned to my settings and it had been resumed, I selected skipped again and the "you are skipping Humble Choice for April" appeared again. I can't say when exactly it disappeared but it was there all April.
So either they are doing something bad with their UI and you indeed skipped April and everything is fine, or you should double check if you pay several months in advance thus you're technically not charged but you have 1 credit used.

I don't know that the credit stuff matters.
This seems to come down to 2 things:
What the button says when viewing games list. If it said "Claim Now" instead of "Reserve Now" despite having paused, then yeah that's weird, and seems like an issue with the site to me.
What the banner says at the top of the page, if it displays at all. If it didn't appear like before or it says something suggesting that you didn't skip or pause, then that's a site issue or a verbiage issue with the site.
Either way, a good thing to tell Humble Support about.

Humble Choice resumed its activity the 1st of May instead of the next bundle
Autocharge will only happen at the last Tuesday of the month, it doesn't really make any different if they "restart" a subscription on the 1st of the month, or on the first Tuesday.

It's a new system and I'm losing trust on HB, when I saw that, I only wanted to warn people and as far as I see, I'm not the only one who had the issue.
The fact it charges the last Tuesday of the month may not apply to people like me who are billing for several months at all.
Honestly maybe it's just a stupid UI error, but if it's not, then maybe me and the other person in that topic who checked and had the same issue didn't lose money stupidly

So long as it's properly showing "Your next billing date is May 31, 2022", then a "warning" isn't needed. It'd certainly demand one if that date wasn't correct. Otherwise, as others have noted, it really doesn't change anything in any meaningful way. That said, it's definitely something that easily solicits a kneejerk reaction, and humans are prone to misinterpretations on simple data elements (eg, numbers, dates), so it's not really anything to criticize you for even if you did jump the gun on the association.
For reference, in my case it did unpause, but is also showing the correct billing date.

after reading your post I checked my account and indeed: I was also unpaused. I had paused on April 4 (according to billing history). I suspect, the automatic resume was just a bit early, which is not a big deal since still it happened after the auto-charge date last Tuesday. I re-paused just in case and I will probably check again in two hours when the new bundle is released to make sure I'm still paused for May (if the May bundle is anything like what was leaked I'll pause the May one for sure).

If there are no significant problems with your account, you should in fact be able to still select April's games, as that'd indicate things are working properly. It'd actually be indicative of an issue if you weren't able to select the current month's games before the month switches over.
Functionally, autopay for Humble works the same as autopay for your bank (assuming you're utilizing the US bank system or an equivalently structured system), or the like. You can still use your bank account for the present month regardless of your autopayment settings, even to pay the same service provider as your autopayment is configured for, even if your autopayment date is changed (eg, such as being pushed back due to overlapping with a holiday). The only concerns with Humble autopay- as with your bank autopayments- should be in confirming that it's not autocharging you twice, or early.
To put that more simply, the autopayment doesn't connect to the status of the bundles themselves, despite being intended for them. You're still in the month of April, and its associated bundle, even if your autopayment date is not. Again, that's assuming nothing substantially broke or was significantly misconfigured on Humble's end, in which case you might be noticing issues in being unable to make purchases, or similar. Even then, it'd more likely than not be an issue fixed once things transition over to the next month, as such programming parameters are generally very basic and written over as needed.

I am currently checking things slowly, as I said earlier, the reason why I posted it so quickly is because we had an hour before the next bundle would come and the time it would take to contact the customer service to ask them why I was unpaused and if there was an issue, contacting people here to warn them.
So I went to the "contact people about a possible issue then check everything after". The fact I'm not the only one who had the issue is reassuring to me as I thought I was crazy with the firsts answers.

Well yes it was unpaused, but I did not check whether or not I could have selected any games. My guess would be, that as soon as I tried to select any game it would take me to billing. I'll never know for sure, because I paused it right again seeing your post here. I've just checked - it's still paused, so I suspect the auto-resume for they May bundle just happened a bit too early. I'll check again before the auto-charge, just to make sure that I'll stay paused, because I don't want the April or the May bundle.

I did just get an email from Humble inviting me to "explore my new Humble Choice" with a link leading to the bundle I paused weeks ago.
But hey I didn't get charged and I have an email saying I skipped so if push comes to shove, I'll shove that down their throat

Thank you Khayta 😉, I was also unpaused.
Checking my emails, I paused on April 25th, and the email on that day was saying that : my subscription will re-start on May 3rd (today).
They probably only messed up with the dates, since today's email is saying that : I'm skipping April, I can unpause at any time before April 26th (sh*t, too late 😂), and the subscription will start again on June 7th... so now I'm also skipping May because June 7th is certainly after the auto-charge date for May (the banner on the top of the site still says I'm skipping April, not May).
Well, maybe we will receive the May Choice bundle for free after all 🤣

Happened with me once. You skip the month just like you wanted.

I don't know how it works for 3 months subscriptions, but be careful when you want to skip, never forget to double check if your subscription is paused cause sometime if you're not careful enough, even if you feel like you paused, you can just have kept your subscription as they really tried to make the unsubscription as confusing as possible....

I chose to skip April month as the games weren't that interesting, but Humble Choice resumed its activity the 1st of May instead of the next bundle. I encourage you to check quickly before the next bundle happens.
I know it's not technically a deal, but it can save your money if you weren't interested by last month bundle and I found that randomly when HB sent me a mail to pick my new games and those were still April games.
Don't forget that you have to go in your setting to skip a month now !
