Awesome. I think this is fantastic though I thought the logical step after adding screenshots to steam would be to add video recording and uploading. This is fine too. At least I'll see more games being played and maybe buy some games I normally would not. Pretty good.

Oh good. More bloat to the Steam client that no one wanted or asked for.

Wasn't expecting that. Lately some of my friends wanted to watch me play so it may be useful. But I wonder how it will turn out.

Can anyone enlights me if and how much of a straim on resources it is steam broadcasting? Higher, lower then other streaming options? Would it be bad to allow streaming on a lower end rig?

Any discussion of piracy (No Asscreed streams.)
Cheating, hacking, game exploits
Threats of violence or harassment, even as a joke
Posted copyright material such as magazine scans
Soliciting, begging, auctioning, raffling, selling, advertising, referrals (no tf2 streams)
Racism or discrimination
Abusive language, including swearing (E-Rated Games only)

That cuts a lot of games out.

That's probably for legal reasons. If you restrict your braodcasts to invitation only there shouldn't be any problems. Unless your "friend" turns out to be an FBI agent ;)

Cool. I've always found it too troublesome to set up video game streaming before.

I have trouble watching other people's streams though. It plays for a few seconds and pauses. Others can watch mine np. Strange ..

That's a feature i always wanted to see.
On the other hand, Twitch is already struggling at peak time so i wonder how they are going to handle that potential amount of new users ?

Hmm, interesting. I've never been much into that whole "streaming" thing (shitty Internet, lack of personality... general laziness) but I guess this could be an easy way to try it out if I ever feel like it.

I, too, like the idea of being able to actually watch games being played that I may not normally buy, might help broaden my interests too, and get me into genres I previously wouldn't touch

So far I've seen like 20 people streaming while playing with wallhacks on lol.
