your post would probably be begging/trading you should probably edit your post and remove the lines with buying from a person here .
But yeah its harsh.
you could probably find a gtx 1050-1070 online on Ebay.
currently is one of the worst times to buy a gpu again because of covid+ upcomming christmas .
in January-March the prices should drop again hopefully (slowly)

Sorry I didn't wanted sound like I am begging or something XD.. English isn't my native language.. so I guess I expressed myself wrong, and yeah I think you have right about the January-March, but what time its the best to play a good game if isn't on Holidays :D and I prefer to buy from here because here are many +reputable traders, like I said I am very afraid of buying second hand stuff online.. because I might get scammed, that;s why I prefer to try out here.

As long as there are cryptominers and chip shortages the prices will most likely not drop anytime soon.
Wrong budget, wrong time. You simply can't get much better then what you have with that money, and if you buy second hand, you wouldn't want that because you will never know it's state.
You are better off buying a ps4 or yeah even a steamdeck with a slightly better budget.
Why does your steam profile say you are from UK?

https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck/
419 euro is the cheapest steamdeck, you probably have to wait months before it's available, and you might want a slightly more expensive one for more space, atleast the 549 euro one. Although it gives you time to save as you only pay 5 euro reservation costs now.
But you would have a good and cheap alternative pc that is much better then what you have. Will it give you a pleasant christmas this year? No. But then it's the next, atleast you got the knowledge you getting one. something to look forward to.
Trust me, i went from a geforce 430GT to a 2080TI. I know what it is to not being able to play certain games, but i would say give yourself time either with a steamdeck or wait till prices drop (which i mentioned above might take months, even years).
I would suggest a ps5 above a ps4, but they are also unavailable and more expensive, but ps4 (or Xbox one) is still good too and you also have most games that are on pc (although you don't get cheap bundles), but you have second hand stores.

This is actually the way I decided to take... (but I already have the pre-order for December).
After my notebook died, I either have to buy another gaming laptop, which heating a bit too much for my taste, or pay absurd prices for GPU...
Hopefully the steamdeck will perform good enough until i manage to find a gpu,,,

I'd advise you to wait at least till 2023, when the situation might(! and this is still not guaranteed) get better. High GPU price is not exclusive to Romania, its all over the world, you cant get a GPU for a decent price anywhere. Yes, there are exceptions in a few cases, but you have be incredibly lucky AND fast to find one or know the right person. There is no real solution to this problem as of yet.
In 2019, I bought a used, 2 years old 1060 (3GB), for 30.000 HUF (about 95 euro back then). Now the same card on the used market starts at 60.000 huf (167,31 euro and this is the bottom, for 5-6 year old used cards, possibly even from cryptomines, and these offers are usually sold in mere minutes).
A gtx 1660, which provides just marginally better performance, is about 550 euro in stores, at the lowest. It simply is not worth it. Take the advise of the others and hold on a while longer! Its frustrating and sad but we are all in this together and unfortunately cant do anything about it until the global market changes drastically.

A new decent graphics board will probably not be available at a reasonable price until after 2023. ....
This seems to have something to do with the fact that the supply of materials for medical devices takes precedence, even for precision mechanical parts.
I need a high performance graphics board right now!
In that case, it seems that used graphics boards exist in the mail order market related to China and Taiwan. This seems to be due to the fact that mining machines that have become unusable due to the banning of bitcoin in China are being disassembled and sold.
However, even if you get a used graphics board that has been abused and used cheaply, whether it will work properly depends on your luck.
And depending on the region, transportation costs can create double suffering.
It seems that there is no such thing as a good deal in this world.
Recently, my space translator made a mistake due to a solar flare. It drew some embarrassing attention.😂
If there is something fishy in my statement, please give it up as it is probably caused by solar flares.🌅

680 should work untill market normalizes, the downside is the lack of vram which forces you to play lower resolutions and quality settings. This gpu is more or less equivalent to a 1050. A 1050ti is a smaller upgrade in terms of performance, the big difference is double vram, which can help run some vram hungry games.
You have three options:
-buy gpu second hand from used markets like facebook, etc (i do find reasonable prices often in my area), could always buy an entire rig with a 1060 in it or similar gpu, switch the gpu around and sell the build again with the 680 in it for a lower price tag;
-buy a premade desktop from a store with a new gpu like a 3060 or equivalent, sell the computer with the 680 in it and keep the 3060. This is the only way of buying GPUs at default pricing, it involves some luck though... And also involves loosing some cash obviously.
-wait for 2023, by then, the market will more or less be back to normal.

A 680 seems like its fairly close to a 960 in terms of raw power, which does under perform in modern games. Ive found that the only way to get near 60fps in most modern 3d games is to drop the resolution to 1600x900 or sometimes a bit less along with tweaking the graphics to low with a few medium settings. In my experience theres almost a 1:1 performance difference by dropping or increasing the resolution based on the number of pixels difference. 1920x1080 = 2073600 pixels. -- 1600x900 = 1440000 (Roughly 30% less pixels for a ~25-30% performance improvement in the games i had tested.)
Running a program like Process Explorer, GPUZ, or MSI Afterburner w/Riva Tuner to keep an eye on GPU usage while playing a game and then tweaking your settings to keep your GPU to around 85-90% utilization, with vsync on, can help reduce stuttering and unpleasantness. In most of my experience the resolution drop is simply necessary to maintain 60fps though. Using a program like that helps save on the guesswork, and often shows the difference in utilization better than just an uncapped framerate alone.
My personal wish for an upgrade would be a 3060 for slightly futureproofing a 60fps experience at 1080p, but without paying more than double the retail to a scalper, or without finding a prebuilt PC for someone in the family and taking the GPU out of it because they dont need it, its gonna be a bit of a wait, or a very expensive purchase. If you're looking to upgrade, I would say that you probably dont want to get anything below ~8500-9000 points on the Passmark charts over at https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html (Only used for the most basic comparisons for general GPU scaling.) IE if you're going to upgrade, you probably dont want to upgrade to something thats only 25% faster, you might not even notice the difference.
Keep in mind that modern games typically want to have more onboard GPU memory too, so if you've got any choice at all (which you probably dont) you want something with more ram on it than your current card for textures and such too.

Was just about to comment word-for-word "don't we all..." :P

Check eBay, Amazon or Facebook Marketplace listings for a used ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP Extreme Edition card... if you don't mind gaming like it's 2015 (and will run most modern AAA games, like Cyberpunk 2077 for example). It's running between $250 and $300 USD here in the States.

I wish I could go to buy that GTX 1050 Ti for 340$, just looked to shop and they want 12 400 czk for USED GTX 1050 Ti. That is around 560$. For me would be almost cheaper buy 3070 or 3080, as they stopped sell older series of graphic cards it is more rare to get than new gpus.
Comment has been collapsed.
That was price for used. And as I know how looks my components when I decide to get new stuff... I am too scared of buy used gpus in mining age 😅. New gtx 3080 cost 39 990 czk. Half year ago before chip shortage you would be able get in my country two used cars for that.

Bad market, mostly because the corporations put all their eggs in the same basket (China). Late last year they've started to realize their mistake and started building semiconductors factories and other related factories in other regions, too (from US to Indonesia and so on). But it will take time until any of those new factories will open and until the market will recover.
As someone noticed, that will probably take a few years. I don't expect the prices to go down next year and not even in the first half of 2023. I'd say that the wait will be long, maybe 2024, 2025 until the prices will go down near where they were.

My box is almost dead. I had no choice but to buy a new system. I've already put it back together after dying by using even older parts. Nothing in my current box is under 10 years old other then the SSD and HD.
I am considering this PC, Dell XPS Special Edition Desktop
prices in CAD.
I did end up getting the dell. It will be a month until it gets here. I did sent email to local system builders. They can't get a card for a system either. One local shop thought they could get this card for $800+. I see it online for over $1000 if its even actually available.
Dell prebuilts don't have the best rep. I think it will do, reviews are fine other then known issues. I will very likely need to put a better cooler in. I've looked into it before buying this. I paid $1,835.01 total.
I got the 32GB dual channel memory. I got a 1TB M2 drive instead of the 512GB M2 + 1TB HD combo. I have a 4TB HD here to put in myself.
This comes with a 500W power supply. A 550W one is recommended but I see plenty of tested systems with 500W that work fine. That might be a future upgrade. Non standard plugs are a thing on this. But they are known and doable.
I will likely upgrade the cooler after I get it and do some testing. People testing this do show a performance difference with a better cooler vs the one I think this comes with. Again, nonstandard mounts but known and doable.
Good luck. In my case I needed a full system anyhow.

Hi everyone.. sorry to bother with my topic ! Like the title says, I am really looking for a gpu because I really need an upgrade, I am from Romania, Europe and in my country its imposibile to get a gpu from at a decent price, even a gtx 1050 ti new it cost like 340$ .. wich its ridiculous. don't even make me start about the stocks.. because the stocks are unavailable for the latest series of gpus most of the time and when they are in stock the price its like 3 times more than it should be.., my currently build has the following components, right now as a gpu I am using the old trusty Geforce GTX 680 XD, and these are the rest of my components
CPU :AMD RYZEN 5 5600X, 4.60GHZ
GPU : Geforce GTX 680
Motherboard : ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac
RAM :Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3200MHz Dual Channel
HDD : Seagate BarraCuda 1TB
SSD Kingston A400 120GB SATA-III
So like I said my temporary gpu its an gtx 680.. I won't say its a bad gpu.. but let's be honest.. it has passed his time.. and I don't realy trust sites like ebay.. too many fishy ads.. I am afraid of scammers, so I thought maybe I should call for help to this amazing comunity of gamers and +reputable traders ! Maybe someone from you guys has a spare of a decent gpu and looking to sell at a corect price.. I would really apreciate that, cause I really wish to play games like Cyberpunk and New World but its too much for my old gtx 680 XD, I don't mind if the gpu its from the AMD or NVIDIA, I am only looking for a gpu that can be used at 1080p gaming.. I mean due to the pandemic situation from my country wich its on red alert right now.. every store closes at max 9pm and we need to wear masks everywhere 24/7 XD and the economy its very harsh right now, very hard to find a decent job, and the prices got very high on almost everything, I mean in my country the economy was bad from years ago but recently it got even bad !!.. anyaway I would appreciate any sugestion if you have a spare and want to sell it let me know maybe we can make a deal, thank you and I hope I didn't violated any steam gifts rules with this topic and also I hope I didn't bother anyone. :) Have great day everyone ! :D
