I'm just curious how many of you guys use this tool and how do you usually manage them.
Would you mind to share yours?

Games that I often play or currently playing are on my Favorite list.
I also group my games to "Cleared", for 100% cleared games.

Favorites is favorites.
For games I really like or enjoyed to play, finished (uninstalled) or not. :)

I actually don't use these tagging features o.o I just have my games, and then "shared" games with my brother through family sharing

No but I probably should start using it because I have so many games on backlog...

I used to tag games, back when I only had a hundred or so...

Then I switched computers and the tags didn't follow, and between that and my rapidly expanding library killed that off pretty quick. :3

Hmmm, I haven't even noticed that Favorites tag. I categorize my games by genre, finished and "hell no" (games with cards that were freebies or in a bundle which I'd never play).

Favorite equals my games being played / installed / soon to be installed, works well I think. Then I've got the other 6 categories:

Games Well Rated / To Play
Games maaaybe to play (early access / minimal reviews)
Games not to touch

Replayable Games (Counterstrike, Binding of Isaac, TF2, Dota, FTL, etc - pick up and play when I feel like it)
Games Already Played
Games Tried (but not enjoyed enough to put in the time to consider 'played')

I sort games by achievement completion. So no. I like way to many games. The games I'm really fond of are saved in my brain.

Yup. Usually for games I've played at some point but haven't 100%'d in achievements so as to remind me to go back to it at some point in time.

This is how I do it:
every game that cant fit in any of the categories, stays at Games.

It's really the only way to keep things organized. New games get right-clicked and marked as a favorite, of course that includes all the games I'm playing or are on my backlog. Everything else gets neatly tucked under the Games tab, which I leave collapsed.

From the top to the bottom :

  • "Favorites" (called "Mes favoris", I'm French) for the good games I'm currently playing.
  • "Maybe" ("A voir") for the games I may or may not play on day, depending of my motivation, my boredom, the state of the "Favorites" category.
  • "Paused" ("En pause") for the games I've started then stopped, but I want to finish one day.
  • The "Saga ..." categories ("Saga Hitman", "Saga Stalker", etc). Because it looks kind of organised (even if some games can appear in the other categories too, like ""Paused").
  • "Completed" ("Terminé"), with or without the completion of the achievements (I don't really care about that).
  • "Trash can" (called it "Trash can" too because I didn't find a word in French starting with T, U, V, etc, to illustrate this category of abominations that has to be in the bottom of my list, after the "Terminé" category). All of the games I want to forget.

I just go by what I have installed on Steam, Origin, and Uplay

On GoG I have 2 separate tags. "Noplay" and "Backlog". "Noplay" means I beat it or don't want to play it. "Backlog" is self explanatory.

I only use categories, and yank games I'm playing right out of categories so they're on the bottom and when I finish them I shove them in the 'Finished' category.
Only time I used the Favorite function was by misclick when I meant to click on Set Category :-)

I use it to have easier access to the games I play a lot at the moment.

Favorites; Games I plan to play more of and probably finish
Beaten: Games I've totally beaten
Ignore: Games that I actively don't want to play again
Mediocre: Games that I might play more of, but don't really feel the urge to finish
Trial: Games I haven't played at all

I use the hide function for games that I don't need at all - Betas, old versions of games that get remastered, the separate mac versions that the GTA games used to have, and so on.
