Would that be cheaper than just flat-out buying items on the store?

Yeah, get a bundle of gifts that is cheapest than keys and gives you more items. Then Go to a private game with a friend and use it, becuse it gives the gifts to the ppl in the server randomly.

I'm about as pro as an old lady who's never seen a computer before. I try to attack one guy and I end up dying while the other guy loses no HP! =P

"What Equipment, Tools, Couriers, or Announcers should I spend on?"
Since no advantages come from anything ingame, you really can go with anything you like, there is no right choice to make (that is until they give in to the mass demands and release a GLaDOS announcer pack, which will automatically become the right choice for these type of questions), so whatever floats your boat :)

yeah, you can buy keys from the community market, their are cheaper, but at least buy one key from the in-game store, that way you will unlock the dota2 premium status, also they will gift you a witch doctor set

it's not a big deal
http://av.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/vqz1c/dota_2_premium_dlc_whats_this/
it also makes dota2 to drop some trading cards
Comment has been collapsed.
Thats pretty old, there ain't no premium status in Dota2 like in TF2, the trading cards come from the new steam beta update and has nothing to do with the Dota2 Shop.

Get a bundle for a character you like. May I ask why you're buying something for Dota 2 if you're not all too into it yet?

Gabe Newell has used his hypnotic double chin to lure me into Dota 2. Now I have a sudden urge to buy something from his meaty hands. What Equipment, Tools, Couriers, or Announcers should I spend on? My budget will go no farther than $20 and I'm interested in getting something for the Dragon Knight.
