I prefer that the games not be created in any years after 2000, because I most likely have played all the good games since then.

Also, I play pretty much every genre, except sports.

90's games probably has the best interest for me, but any games that are actually good could work.

(Btw, I don't care about what system they are in, I "have" all of them.)

I have an entire Spring Break to kill, so please help me.

This is currently the list I plan to play:

  • Chrono Trigger

  • Skies of Arcadia

  • Ducktales

  • Anachronox

  • Freespace 1 and 2

  • Giants: Citizen Kabuto

  • Freelancer

  • Radiant Historia

  • Xenogears

  • Tales of Symphonia

There are some really good reminiscing about favorite game threads already on the forums if you go back a page or two. Can certainly start there. There are so many that were great games! I'll try not to list any of the obvious ones, I'm sure you've played them or know of them already. My personal favorite older RPG that isn't quite as well known was probably Skies of Arcadia (Originally for the Dreamcast, remake on GC). I was never much of a FPS fan back when, so no good suggestions there. Jamestown (PC) has pretty fun gameplay for a multidirectional shooter (storyline is kind of wonky). Platformer wise... Chip and Dale rescue rangers! (Strangely can't remember platform...),the Lion king (Genesis I think), and Ducktales (OF COURSE- though well known!) amg I'm going cartoony.

I'm adding Skies of Arcadia and Ducktales.

(Chip and Dale, I remember playing at one point I believe)

And others didn't quite grasp enough.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Have you played Anachronox yet? I know that it was made in 2001, but most people seemed to have skipped over it. How about the Oddworld franchise, Phantasmagoria, or the Earthworm Jim games? And Uninvited, Shadowgate, and Deja Vu are great point and clicks that you might enjoy.

And though it's also quite new, you might not have noticed Cell: Emergence yet. That's a really unique, challenging shooter. It's a current favorite of mine.

I'll try to think of something else to recommend to you, but for now I think this is a good list. It has a decent variety of games. :9

Chrono Trigger is too damn overrated. It's an okay RPG but it gets boring and repetitive really quick.

Anywho here are better jRPGs.

Radiant Historia - DS
Dragon Quest IV-VI - DS
Etrian Odyssey series - 1-3 on DS 4 on 3DS
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 1 & 2 - DS with 3DS Remakes (2 is the works for the 3DS remake and confirmed to have double the content)
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey - DS
Final Fantasy V Advance - GBA
Final Fantasy VI Advance - GBA
The Legend of Dragoon - PS1
Final Fantasy IX - PS1
Xenogears - PS1
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES - PS2

Age of Wonders, Thief, Theif 2, Deus Ex, Masters of Orion 2, The Longest Journey, Monkey Island series, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Planescape: Torment, Katamari (PS2 versions), and Fallout 2 all come to mind. The mods and fan missions for some of these were great as well, but I'm not sure if you can still find them.

Going to GOG for good 90's games seems like a solid plan, not to mention a better description of the games in question.

I've pretty much played almost every game you named.

If I didn't play them, I either heard of them and didn't have previous interest in them.

But this list is certainly a list for someone to play if they haven't played a majority of them.

If you like strategy games, you can try the old Bungie serie : "Myth, The Fallen Lords" and "Myth II, Soulblighter".
I found "Warhammer: Dark Omen" quite great too. Similar to Myth.
