To be fair, the base storyline was created to allow for seamless... milking of the franchise, lol. He gets connected to an ancestor in some time era, they need to find out more, bla bla bla. They can make one game per time era. They could have potentially dozens of Assassins Creeds, all in different time eras, and the story would effectively still be coherent. It's pretty smart.

And i wouldn't mind that at all, cuz they do such an amazing job with reviving old cities and all that history. For example i always stop in Florence in AC2 and read every building description :)
Great game, great story and you learn something too. Winning combination

^ I have to say, they really do a good job at making cities and times long gone come to life. Sure, it isn't perfect, but the backgrounds, buildings and the streets all look fairly polished. And because you have pretty much freedom of movement everywhere, it makes it less obvious that while you can interact with some stuff and run and jump on buildings, there are very few buildings you can actually enter. They do a good job on maintaining the illusion.
Giving background history to characters and buildings adds to it and that NPC react to your actions (guards, etc.), however limited, helps as well.

They should have stopped at revalations or III. I hadn't played Revalations or finished III. Immma gonna be so outta date with this francise

I understand based on the story of 3 why they would do a 4th, but honestly by 3 they were already milking it, 3 was easily the weakest in the franchise thus far and they put almost no effort into it. the story was lazy, the game was buggy, there was no real reason to do the extra stuff at all, or even buy weapons beyond the basic stuff.
basically its the worst, and of like five or six games overall that isnt bad but they shouldnt just rest on their success and start being lazy is what im getting at.

Yeah, from what I here, the navel combat was where it was at in that game, so I guess it's the logical progression to go High-Seas Assassin.

Oh.. hooray, another installment of the Assassin's creed franchise. Oh.. can't err.. wait?
Remember at the launch of AC I when they told us they were gonna make this a trilogy, nothing less nothing more.. For the sake of quality!? .. What a joke.

Well they have made Assassins Creed, Assassins Creed II, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Assassins Creed revalations, Assassins Creed III, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag
I think that was more than a trilogy

I refuse to ever buy any game in this series, I got 1, but that was free anyway, and I probably won't play it. I just can't stand the fact that a single player game like this has turned into an annual franchise, not only that, but even worse than cod. At least with cod there's about 6 months before an announcement of a sequel, these guys seem to announce their games as soon as they release one...

I don't get People, they release it annually people will Bitch about it. Valve delays half life 3, people Bitch about it. If they have the capability to release one AC annually then they will do it.
I still believe that time is money. If you delay a game, then your delaying your money

Yeah but they're announcing them so quickly that it seems like no thought goes into it, just a "okay which era next? oh the civil war? yeah okay" and they just make another one, imo, it should at least be every other year, that's reasonable. I mean this is a single player game, you'd think they would spend more time on it, it's not just another multiplayer shooter or sports game...

If the storyline revolves around sea-faring Assassins, the variety of locations you can visit in the game could be really cool.
Also, I heard rumors about France, I forget the exact context, but I think visiting France in the game would be pretty cool, the only part I really disliked about AC3 was that the architecture/setting wasn't as cool as AC2.

I heard it might be a DLC for AC3 that will focus on the Naval combat sessions, well,it said Ubisoft will talk about it on March 4th. Can't wait, though they do milk it,c'mon what can they possible invent from the ending of AC3,they need more time,so early? Probably nothing special.

You can try the game maybe, if you go at one playtest session. ;)
