Book Puzzle Giveaway

This puzzle giveaway is for a copy of Darkspore and ends on friday. It's my first puzzle so here's hoping it isn't too difficult or too easy. It's based on some of my favorite books. Good luck! http://www.itstoohard.com/puzzle/t05zVmKF

EDIT: Hajeez just noticed that Question 8's hint is kind of incorrect. Here's a new hint for it: "The antagonist of the novel is not what he seems. I'd highly advise against looking directly at him in his true form."

So it looks like about a third of those of you who attempted it solved the puzzle. Here's an answer key for those who requested it with the author's name in brackets:

The hint that is given is actually quite helpful. Granted, I've listened to This American Life for years so I knew right away who it was.
