Hey guys,

I am quite new around and so far had my tickets solved within minutes from their creation (2 tickets). 2 weeks ago my first GA ended and I've put steam key for winner but he did not claim the game nor responded to my steam FR / emails. Had to wait week before I could create ticket requesting new winner but it's almost another week and no one from SG support responded to my ticket.

Anyone got any idea how long does it take to declare new winner? I have thought this is going to be quickie but apparently it is not.

Cheers

It usually takes from 30 minutes to two days at worst. An entire week is not normal.

Actually one week is normal... at least in my opinion.

For a reroll ticket? I wouldn't say that, those tend to get resolved the fastest.

I have the same problem.

Did you provide proof that the winner is not responsive?
For example: Screenshots of an e-mail you sent, a pending friend request on Steam, ...
Are you sure that the winner did not claim the key? If you put it in the Steamgifts delivery system and clicked "send key" the user is able to see the key. So if the winner was online since you clicked "send key", he/she might have used the key already. So if you get a re-roll you might be out of a valid key.

Edit: I am confused. All your giveaways are marked received. If the winner has marked the win received but did not activate in his/her account, requesting a new winner is the wrong way to go. Just create a user report for a "non activation".

Their first one is still awaiting feedback.

You're using a script that hides giveaways on the user page? Confused..

Me too. Trying some new scripts, thought just stuff from the main page would be hidden.

I did not provide proof of email sent to address spam@provider.com, just sending email to something called SPAM sounded ridiculous..., as for Steam, I did not know how to check pending FR until few days ago and not prior to creating the ticket.

That user is flanking online here on SG and on Steam all the time yet, as I said, he does not cummunicate. After all, he has an account here for more then 3 years and created / won 1 GA and both 3 years ago.

This trolling just doesn't make any sense.

That's what they left in their information, they asked for it. SG asks for an accurate email address for the sake of gift delivery as well as winner contacting, so you can assume what they provide is such. If you do not hear back from the winner, you are eligible for a re-roll with the proof of your contact attempt.

Also, I have accidentaly claimed the game myself 3 or 4 days ago proving that key was unclaimed and still working. Had to contact Steam support to remove the game from my library and reset steam key which they did 2 days ago so I would like to give the game key to someone actually wanting the game...

They can reset a key? That news for me.

Steam support: "I have removed the key from this account. You may now add the key to the correct account."

That's great to know. Thanks for the information.

Honestly, doesn't sound right to me. Did they say the exact words in English, or you somehow translated from another language?

Come on, man. I may be from Czech Republic but I do know my English well...

I wanted to bring it up as it is my No.1 rule to never (fully) trust Steam Support. In a word, they are unhelpful in general.

A while ago I contacted Steam Support for a ban on posting user generated content, which is a Steam Community-level ban after a few screenshots posted on a game hub which were later banned by the developer. After a week or so Steam Support talking about they were unable to remove my "game ban" as it is each game's developer to issue "game bans" and I'd have to contact developers for such. Their respond was completely irrelevant and wrong because first I was not talking about game bans and second I was never game banned in any game. In the end I had to get a community moderator to unban my screenshots so I could continue posting user generated contents (and they are much faster than Steam Support too).

Just like any support, their service is bad. I had to wait long and they have merged several of my tickets together as one. But they compeled so I want to get rid of this GA and lucky enough - the winners is someone seemingly inactive for 3 years.

Wait, what? o.O
Technically they can do it, but they are forbidden to.

Okay, so instead of giving me some support regarding my issue someone sneaky enough is going to tell on Steam rep who helped me? Just great.

I doubt that. It is just really strange. technically, that support just cloned a product.

No, technically they didn't - they have removed it from my game list (i did not play the game) so reset is still just one copy.

That's actually very new. I'd have to ask someone about this...

you don't have to mask the name of Steam Support though

Well I didn't knew about til now - I just found this posted by someone on google. It certainly is exploitable and since people are asshole - they will try to do that. I don't.

Any chance you could post the reply from Steam? Sounds odd to me that they would do that and so quickly. Anyone can easily remove a game. Not sure about "resetting".

You can now remove a game from your library (without having to "contact" support) but it's the first time I've ever heard support are able to "reset" a key to not activated status.

Regardless, you are better off with a new key if you want the winner to redeem it.

Well I'd like a new winner to test it - i don't want to claim the game myself AGAIN just to prove it's possible.

You never want to "test" the key "for" your winner.

Advice though, assuming the game comes from Humble Bundle (not Humble Store) you should be able to create a HB gift link for it. You can then send the gift link on SG. So if the link is not redeemed yet, you will see things like "someone has sent a special gift" or so; otherwise it will tell you someone has redeemed the link.

Thank you for your opinion PlyrStar. As I said, I am quite new around here and I am exploring how does everything work, what are my options and what suits me best. I have tested sharing the game code with winners via steam key inserted directly here with GA creation, sending the email with gift link from HB and / or sending the game via Steam gift from my inventory. Everything has its own pros and cons and as you already noticed, this was my first GA ever so don't expect it to be perfect according to your own methods. Everyone else was able to claim the game with no issues and I don't see any reason why this heel couldn't do the same.
