Terraria 1.2 worth replaying?

We played Terraria with my gf and stopped a long while ago after "beating" hard mode and getting bored of it.

Now we'd be considering restarting from scratch if that new update is really worth it.

So I ask steamgifters who have been trying it out, does 1.2 make it worth starting a new world?

I just started playing again with my gf a couple of days ago. It's very much worth a replay - there's so much new stuff that it's almost like playing an entirely new game.
