But really, there's nothing you can do. Obviously the less people that enter, the better your odds are to win. Private and group giveaways yield better results, generally. Just keep trying though! :)

Because the odds are not in my favor when you got that many people trying to win. Same goes here. It took me 415 entires before I won my 1st giveaway. It just luck.

But to increase your odds, give away more games so you can enter contributor only giveaways.

Do the puzzles in the forum, and if you are cool enough, join a group that frequently does giveaways. This will elad to giveaways with only 6-30 entries, increasing your odds by quite a bit.

Or just keep entering the public ones and hope for the best?

Of course you won't win anythhing if you make whiny threads like this. In all seriousness, it's all about luck, but rising your contributor value, joining giveaway groups and searching for forum giveaways usually get you giveaways with better chances of winning. Just be persistent and hope for a lucky strike.

Don't expect to win anything and then you'll be happier for it if a time comes when you do get chosen. You have to understand that the odds are against you, very much so in giveaways with high numbers of entrants.

Your luck doesn't suck. Take a look at the giveaways you'r entering. Most has 500-2000 entries, making it fairly predictable you'll probably win during around that many entries. It's mathematically proven.
