I haven't joined the group, I got the invite from another Valve private group. :)

I just tested it and I couldn't understand if one of the PC's isn't that powerful and the other one is enough powerful to run the game on Ultra, would it lag on the weak PC or not? Confusing :D

No no no :D It's about that. If PC is enough powerful, it will, obviously, run game on Ultra setting but after that, it just send a video and audio signal to Laptop/whatever you will use and it will setted up as a controller. Think about that In-Home Streaming as an Gaikai/Onlive type of thing but instead of using slower internet connection, it uses LAN/WLAN. The game will lag or just stutter ONLY when PC will be not powerful enough to actually run it on Ultra settings. Laptop will do nothing in terms of rendering graphics etc.

You need to join the Family Sharing group on Steam to get an invite

wow nice, I actually needed that beta badly since buying a hardware solution for in-home streaming is too damn expensive.
And here we you are getting an invite on which you don't know the main purpose for it.
HDMI extenders are quite expensive but wait until you see the price of extending a usb device
Ofc there are cheaper software solutions like Synergy, But it can't support high dpi mouse sensitivity so using this on full screen fps games is horrible. Doesn't support native controller support also, although it works with xpadder

Yeah, I never got why some company never made a HDMI/USB extender combo for specifically designed for use with games. If they got it down to a more reasonable price something like that could be a big hit I think.
There are other solutions than Synergy though (which is more of a mouse/keyboard extender solution than streaming) . If you have a Nvidia 600 (or higher) card, check out Limelight. Basically, it's the Nvidia Shield streaming tech but let's you use a PC client instead of the Shield hardware.
There's also stuff like Kainy and Splashtop, which does an ok job if you don't have an Nvidia card. Granted In-Home Streaming is the one that works the best by far from what I've seen.

Kainy is not the solution that I'm finding since I actually want a native usb controller when playing multiplayer on the big TV. Same with splashtop.
I want to have the option to stream my games either in the mancave for hardcore lan parties, or living room for recreational wii emulator family fun or 4 player couch games.

I didn't mean I don't know what it is, but I didn't know what the point of it is. But now I get it. I've already tested it and I'll actually use it, since as you said HDMI extenders are expensive and I want to play sometimes in my bed with controller. Thanks! :)

i beleive this lets u install steam on all the PC in your house BUT only install the games on the main gaming PC with the most power and then the other PC can play that game without installing it but just streaming it from the main pc. so you could game on a not soo good pc cause it is streamed by the more powerfull pc

I've received email 2 days ago that I'm invited in this thing. I couldn't understand what is the point of it though.
For the curious ppl
EDIT: Now I see the purpose of it and I didn't mean I don't understand what is it made for, but what is the point of it. I see now and I'm actually happy I got an invite for it, because I'm tired of playing on my laptop in my bed. :)
