Ha, you did some nice work. Clever stuff. I especially like both Bananaardvark and Habanana.

Thanks very much!
Habanana was actually my very first one, and I think Bananaardvark is probably my favourite π

I must say these look fun indeed. Not into the stuff but I like what you have done.
I often heard that in the creative process, that's what limits you that really gets you creative. Feels that way with bananas :D

Thanks for your kind words π
I do think it's really true that having a limitation which forces you to think from a different perspective definitely can inspire you. Even if it's something as silly as bananas π

I always put some effort into making the descriptions entertaining, glad that you liked them π
I was really toying with calling it the Baanaanaardvark, as it happens π

Fun story: I put a couple of hours into working on a "JalabanaΓ±o"... And then someone else uploaded a whole set of chili bananas. Good ones too. Such is life!

I use a program called GIMP, which is a free alternative to Photoshop. Most people say it's much less user-friendly than Photoshop, but I've been using it so long it would be hard for me to switch now.
My process can vary a bit depending on the idea, but generally I start off by finding a selection of reference pictures, then I work on making outlines for my design section by section, and build up textures, colours, and shading. Honestly, I know my techniques are pretty rudimentary, and it probably takes me longer than it really should, but I treat it as a kind of meditative process, so I don't mind if I spend a few hours slowly progressing with some music or a TV show in the background.
Happy Cake Day!

I know GIMP, I have read that others also use Photoshop or Paint to create. I rarely use these programs otherwise I would have tried to create a banana, but I think it would be more difficult for me than I thought :D. But very good work! I think the ones you created look particularly high quality compared to some others. If I hadn't been made aware of my cake day, I would have overlooked it XD. Thank you

can people stop helping this person scam shit tons of money......

The funniest thing to me is your ape avatar as it makes me think you came here after the NFT ape coin projects failed like 485 times in a row.
For reference, I have some contacts which traded me some of these items from these games for less than my market value, but I like to keep them in my inventory, as then I know for sure they'll never be worth anything. How do I know this? Insert something about murphy's law here.
In the case they go up, which will never happen, I'd be rich, and we know that's not how it works, so they have a worthless guarantee. My contact has thousands to hundreds of thousands of each item I want and is able to get me more if somehow I could ever use or buy more than 100k items from them. To give some examples, for banana he has over 250k of one item, for egg around 30k, cats just around 6k, dota 2 and cs 1k, mostly cause I got some from them, and other random games.
All in all, with the exception of a few bananas that were out in the betas that only the owner printed for himself and his friends and which the owner can more than likely print himself more of(by giving himself and his friends a title and enabling that drop for that title for instance), same with other games, most of these games have tens of millions of these items, even though steam might show 10k or 200 or something.
As for the designs, this game launched with all copyrighted designs, all which the developer stole and then changed away because he knew he'd be shut down or dmca'd. So he stole the fame of those authors, and now it's a nft attempt despite Gaben claiming he's not going to allow nft games on steam. But I'm doing my part, as long as I have some, I guarantee this game will die out, soon I'll list them on the market and you are more than welcome to buy them. I'll also never get them from the market myself, just from my sources, since it's much cheaper for me.
PS: So if you invest in these, feel free to look at my inventory, and don't buy what I have, or you'll never get a return from it.

I can understand your logical leap, but all the NFT apes have that same hideous art style, right? Nothing like my avatar. Besides which, they've only been around a couple of years, whereas I've been a member here for almost 8 years (and I've been using this nickname since the mid-90's).
I've never paid a penny for a banana, and I never will. Nevertheless, as I say, I'm having fun designing them. Just that π

I understand why the banana thing is a seriously icky subject for some folks, after all, speculation is at best an ugly habit and at worst a destructive force, and if any dev seems to be setting out to capitalise on that instinct, it is only right to call them out...
All that said, designing bananas is FUN!
The creative limitation of having to base everything around the theme of a banana has been really inspiring for me, and I'm really enjoying making them. I'm up to 9 of them now!
It made me wonder, has anyone else been expressing themselves through the medium of bananart?
