i suggest you learn to understand what you actually read, the poll is described by the following: "tell us which deal you'd like to see next" - all three deals will be coming, no matter what you fuckin do, it just allows community to decide what will happen sooner than later.

That is what recap days are for.
We are way off base on my original point, which is the community votes hold less meaning since the flash/daily deals hold the same value. Why do I want to see deals offered in the community vote that have just ended as a flash/daily 12 hours before? The choices the community makes as a whole have zero impact on the sales themselves, other than modifying when you can get them by a few hours.

At this point, we have all discovered this is it for the fun activities promised... I guess we can be thankful there is any interaction at all.
Steam Summer 2011 is the winner.

I remember the good old days where we didn't have these giant discount sales for our digital distribution gaming clients... those were the days.

So sad. I would buy ME3 with a 75% discount, but I don't think that'll ever happen.

Thank you young user... I am glad I can take a trip down memory lane. I only wish I could find a brick and mortar store that has terrible trade in evaluations to really complete my day.

Maybe when the community votes a true 100%, that game is freeeeeeee!

This is probably just a test for steam greenlight.

It's barely a chance, the only reason why Grimrock won was because it went against sub 50% off deals. Otherwise it wouldn't be the first deal to be put up a second time by the community. Not to mention the fact that Steam has recap days where deals are put up for a second time already for the people that missed them.
My OP isn't about the second chances that are offered, it's that the community vote had a lot more potential than what it is being used for. That is disappointing in my eyes. Right now votes on deals don't matter since all they do is move the deal by a few hours. Every deal that has been offered has been put up as a flash/daily nearly right after the community vote has ended. We are not getting deals that much earlier than we would if there had been no vote at all. If say the deals on the first vote didn't show up again until day 7 or at a different discount (Say 50% instead of 66%), then choices would actually matter more than they do now.

Since everything that I have voted for so far has won the vote I can't be entirely certain that any of your votes actually matter.

The voting is just there to make potential buyers go back to the store every 8 hours, such as the flash deals - it is very likely that any game in those will eventually be a daily.
Get your potential buyers to stare at those amazing -75% icons long enough, they end up spending more money than they would usually do.

I was really hoping they would either be larger discounts or one time offers. Make them Special. Instead no matter what the community votes the deal will show up in the near future. (Or a repeat like Grimrock)
