I spent most of my formative years as part DIY/punk culture and this was a great puzzle, although it made me feel old since I didn't know of some of these bands.
I figure I'll share a friend's record distro, because spreading the word about obscure and hard-to-find hardcore, thrash,crust, grind and other various permutations of punk rock keeps this scene alive.

well, you're really a few years ahead of me :)
My first show was in 2004, a small venue and local bands, about 20 people in the crowd, but I instantly got hooked and started my own band a few weeks later :D

Not a long time ago I discovered some bands like Hoax, Vile Gash, Total Abuse, Civilized, Gag. I've never really liked hardcore punk, but these bands are stuck in my playlist for days. Pretty evil shit.
