Do I sell it on the Steam Market now and take approximately $20 Steam Wallet after fees or do I wait for series #40 to stop dropping and then sell it for considerably more?

If I sell it before the Winter sales I'll have that money on hand to take advantage of the sales. If I wait for it to stop dropping and increase in value then I'll make more money but won't be able to take full advantage of the sales.

Tell me what to do SteamGifts forumites.

If you can be patient, you should hold onto it. Personally, I had one drop like 5 or 6 weeks ago. I held onto it for a week before the temptation got to me to open it. Fortunately, I lucked out and got the Huntsman. That thing will probably be like between 2 or 3 buds(more?) when the 40's are no longer available, so it's all good.

However, if the steam market had existed when I got it, I might've sold it. The only thing that might be holding me back is that it's only store credit, but still, it's currency. So yeah, hard to say, but holding onto it (if you resist temptation) would probably be ebst.

There will be many, many more sales in the future.

On the other hand, your backlog is a lot smaller than most people's. So if you don't think your current games + whatever you can afford without selling it can keep you entertained for the next year or so, sell it.

I don't know how my backlog compares to those of others but it seems fairly large. I haven't beaten most of my games and at the rate I'm beating games I should have more than enough to keep me busy for the next year.

I blame Warband. I'll probably have 500+ hours in that game before I uninstall it and set it aside.

What's so special about that crate?

It's exceptionally rare.

It does not drop very often (more rare than a hat drop) and it has some expensive strange weapons inside it.

I play TF2 occasionally and idle as well. I have a decent knowledge of the game but dam ppl are lucky getting these crates. I barely get any hat drops let alone salvaged crate xD

hold onto it man. the 50's are coming out VERY soon (crates are at #49 atm), and then the 40's will stop dropping. boom value skyrockets.
