Will get this one?
No one wanted to make a thread Β―\_(γ)_/Β―.
Also, interested in software bundles (not in this one), but not instead of games.

I bought a bunch of instruments when they had that software bundle with the $30 voucher in the $1 tier, but I've stayed away from soundpools since their licence requires additional payment for commercial use.

Cheers for the charts brainkillergr but its not a bundle for me.

Don't mind software bundles, but not in the place of Game bundles.
This is also not one I would really go for. Last one I got was the one with Daemon Tools just for Nostalgia's sake because I used it a lot in the past and the partition manager was a good one too.

The previous one with video software had some really good tools for really good prices, and I know a few people who are miffed that they missed out on them.
For me it's just "things that are on Steam without Steam keys", therefore not interesting ;D

Don't worry. You didn't miss a thing. The core of that bundle was VEGAS Pro Edit, a capable video editing software that is somewhat popular among hobbyists, but has an inflated price tag considering its overall functionality and performance--even for the bundled price of 20 bucks instead of its regular 400 or so. Because you can get actual production grade software used by industry pros for zero bucks that blows VEGAS out of the water. I'm talking about DaVinci Resolve and I explain this in more detail here if you're interested.

For anyone interested you can get Samplitude Pro X Silver (X not X2) completely free. After installing the program, you only need to register a MAGIX account if you don't have one already and you'll get a license for unlimited use of the program.
I installed it moments ago and it looks good enough for my needs.

Thank you for thread and chart, BraiNKilleR! :-)
I guess this bundle is for a niche public.

its feels like they are doing less and less game bundles and more book/software that nobody asked for

If you set it up right, EAC should do all/most of that when ripping and converting. The metadata and recognition is quite good for mainstream stuff. Tiny private label things aren't usually in the free databases it can access. MP3 Deluxe is probably better for organizing an existing collection and correcting info after the fact.
Ripping with EAC is also kind of rough on a lot of drives. I burned one out after like 100 discs. :o

I use these 3 programs to create FLAC archives:
All of them are free and can rip CD audio to any format (wav, mp3, flac...)

does soundforge expire after a year like most software bundles in hb or is it for life?

I need to make some music for a game I'm developing, are those a good choice? Does it take much effort?
I wonder if it's better to chase semi-bad CC0 songs or to try to make something using these software.
I have never created any audiotrack before..
Thank you!

If you've never made music you'll probably want to license something instead. Even finding good stuff is not necessarily very expensive now on some of the licensing sites.
I've used Acid Music 10 and like it (I also used Acid Pro years ago for creating loops and recording) and it's good software, very capable for indie projects - but there's alot to recording and composing a song that would likely sidetrack you for months.

Thanks a ton for the kind and very detailed reply, that's very good information!
Best wishes to you!!

I'm really new to making music and this kind of stuff, what tiers are worth it for a beginner and what do they do? I don't get all of this technical stuff but i'm willing to learn it.

Acid Music 10 would allow you to record your own tracks, integrate loops, program virtual instruments, and mix your tracks. But no doubt it's a craft and there's a learning curve to getting good recordings w/ microphones and produce good product. But that's going to be the case regardless of software But imho this is a pretty good set of software to get started on the cheap with Acid Music Studio and Sound Forge. As with anything, it depends on what you want to do with software as different ones will appeal to different users, but it was fine for me to use while songwriting, figuring out parts, and doing rough mixes. It can produce very good results if you put alot of effort into the process, but as I said above, there's alot of craft and skill involved in getting really good sound into the microphone that takes practice.

Thank you for the help! Do you think the final tier is worth an extra 10 dollars?

I don't know much of added features are for the Sound Forge Pro 11 vs. Audio Studio 10. some of the iZotope mastering tools in SFPro11 are respected, and maybe the loop editor might be interesting (I'm interested in loops), but there are many ways of doing things like that, and many different tools. As a beginner it's certainly a powerful tool and will probably do a ton of things you'll never use, even if the software is aged a bit. With audio stuff often it's a matter of learning how to use it vs. the software itself.
Here's a comparison I found.
https://www.magix.com/us/music/sound-forge-pro/version-comparison/#c602440
I can't speak to Samplitude. With alot of DAWs it just comes down to learning one that fits working style and using it because they're often pretty complex and deep. As a beginner my guess is the Music Studio 10 is alot easier to use, but you might like Samplitude better. There are so many DAWs it's hard to anticipate what will appeal best. When I was doing this stuff I preferred simplicity in software so I could get down to making music, but I'm a guitarist who liked songwriting and recording with a band, so would likely have much different requirements than someone who's into electronica and likes to program the heck out the software. I found I got frustrated if things got to complex too quickly w/ the software, so simplicity was my preference. I did like messing around with loops, so did prefer things like Ableton Live, Acid, and Music Studio which make that easier. Other software will be better for other things. But I guess as a beginner I'd bet Music Studio will be good to learn on. Maybe someone else can speak to Samplitude, but in my experience the learning curve on each DAW is different so it's hard to tell what will "click" with your workstyle and what won't. If you don't have a workstyle I'd tend to recommend simplicity of use so you don't get bogged down early on.

The iZotope plugins that make this software vaguely compelling are not included in the HB package! Also, Magix will not sell you the plug-ins after the fact (see my detailed post on this at the bottom). As such, if the features you care about are related to any of the plug-ins, then you need to stay far, far away from this bundle.
Comment has been collapsed.
thanks... I didn't notice that the bundle excluded izotope plugins. I've used Acid Music Studio 10 and Acid Pro 7 and found them useful for songwriting and song construction. I don't think I have used the excluded izotope plugins, though I hear they are nice (Acid Pro 7 is old software, I probably got it before izotope was a part?).
Do you know if the other non-izotope plugins that normally would be included are still there?
Comment has been collapsed.
I saw clauses at the bottom of almost every description that said "plugins not included." So, I'm assuming the answer is "no."
I know that the bundle I bought included 0% of the plugins, which rendered the software useless for all of the things that I really wanted to do (I'm a musician as well and familiar with most of the pro-grade tools, but wanted this as an affordable set of stuff I could throw on my everyday PC and do stuff like make karaoke tracks for my daughter's vocal practice, etc).

If anyone else can confirm within thread whether there are no plugins or just exclude the izotope plugins that would be good. To me it reads as if the izotope plugins are excluded, but no mention of the others plugs that come standard.
Audio Studio:
Note: No external plugins included.
(iZotope Audio Enhancer, iZotope Vocal Eraser)
Acid Pro:
Note: No external plug-ins included
(ACID Pro Effects Rack by iZotope )
Sound Forge:
Note: No external plug-ins included
(iZotope Mastering and Repair Suite)

Ah, good catch. Well, if that's accurate, then that's good news and it makes things a bit better. Of course, my entire mission with Audio Studio was to use the Vocal Eraser, so it's still worthless to me. But perhaps someone else can get some value out of it.
In any case, I still don't think that they should be selling this unless it's complete or unless Magix is will to let people add on the plugins after the fact for a small fee (which they won't unless something drastic has changed over the past few months).

Not shovelware. There's lots of software out there, and people have their preferences, but these software work fine. Acid Pro was my favorite DAW for a long time. Acid Music is simple to use, quick to learn, and powerful enough for many projects. For musicians, that ease of use often matters. I used to make guitar based loops and am pretty sure I used Sound Forge in that process. I still use sound forge to speed up podcasts. I've used others that I liked alot also, but bang for the buck is certainly there.

DO NOT BUY THIS BUNDLE!
I bought that Magix bundle the last time they offered one...and ended up feeling completely ripped off. I've never been able to say that about any HB purchase before or since. At least this time they have language that lists that the plug-ins are not included with software such as Audio Studio.
But here's the thing: they still list functionality in the descriptions as being part of this software that is ONLY provided by those plug-ins (such as being able to create karaoke tracks from your existing audio tracks in Audio Studio)! So, the description is completely misleading unless those plug-ins exist. Some software, such as Audio Studio, is largely useless without them (I could get free editing software that does the same thing at that point). Furthermore, this software should not EVER be sold without the plug-ins, as they're supposed to be included with the price of the software...if the the supplying company won't provide them, then don't offer the software.
I went round and round with MAGIX support on this and while they agreed that those plugins should be included with the package, they couldn't or wouldn't generate them in any way other than through the initial purchase process on their page. I even offered to pay for the plug-ins, but they literally don't have a way to sell them to customers, which means I can't even get the functionality that I want out of that software even if I'm willing to pay extra for it, leaving me with a bunch of brick software that I'll never use.
Now, I know after 25 years in the software industry that their refusal to generate the plug-in keys is completely bogus. This isn't rocket science, and there is clearly a procedure to generate them...they simply refuse to do so outside of their normal purchase process (i.e., anything associated with buying their software in a bundle). I let them know that by not working with me, that it meant that I would never buy any software of any kind from them ever, i.e., they would lose me as a customer permanently. They did not seem to care. They told me that if I wanted the plug-ins, I would need to re-purchase the software through their site (basically, my HB version was useless, and they wanted me to pay again for the software to get the functionality that I wanted).
Seriously, unless HB can provide the complete package with complete functionality, they should not be selling this software AT ALL. Don't make the same mistake that I did, and stay far, far away from any bundle offering MAGIX software.

I personally think so. There are too many little required plugins to make the Magix stuff worthwhile, and I've found their support to be really sub-par. They certainly wouldn't find a way to get anything that I'd already purchased to be functional. They basically said, "too bad, nothing we can do about it, if HB can get you keys for the plugins then fine, but we won't provide them for you. If you want that functionality you can re-purchase the software on our site."
Yep...just no. No, no, no. I will never use any of their products again. Their stuff seems to be kind of mid-to-high consumer grade stuff, and if you really want to get into any music editing/creating with any seriousness, then stepping up to the intro level of pro-grade software is a better idea IMO.

Yep, it is not worth your time. All of the stuff that I got in that bundle before has just sat there like the worthless rock that it is.
