Just noticed this one in the Steam Store, with a pre-order bonus of COJ: Bound in Blood.

Only decent preview I could find is here. Bound in Blood looks good, but the lack of promotion for the new game doesn't bode well. Worth a punt for $17.95?

EDIT: Just noticed it's only $14.99 in the USA. Thanks for the scalping, Ubi...

I bought it at GMG for $11.25. I think I won't be disappointed but you never know.

Thanks. That's a good price :) Doesn't seem to be available from GMG in my region. I've got a few dollars in my Steam wallet though, so would rather buy from there anyway.

GMG is cheaper, I bought it there too, I thought I would get bound in blood on steam too :/

But never mind, still a good deal.

I think it will be a good game. Maybe great.

I think it's a corridor shooter with Wild West ambientation. But seems good. And it's price tag is not that high.

I haven't played any of the previous ones so I can't really tell.

Thanks. The screenshots look nice, and there aren't many decent Western games for the PC. I'm leaning towards getting it on pre-order.

I will get it for me,just not sure when. Bound in Blood was definately the best CoJ,really great story and characters if you like western movies.

I agree. BOB was a great game and had a great COOP and multiplayer. I loved it.

This one seem to be only a SP game tho.

EDIT: Thanks to sleepy I won't need to buy it :>

Oo, I'll be sure to get it. I'm sold for the trailer video on steam.

And it's like $14.99 here for me. With a bonus of BiB, that's a killer deal for sure.

Why this is Steamworks. Ubi has their own uplay.

Because 1.) Steam has a HUGE market ready to buy games, larger than Uplay. 2.) Uplay is fucking awful, why would you want to continue to use it?

At least they haven't opted for the usual double-DRM fiasco of Steam AND Uplay or, even worse, Tages...

wouldnt be so sure about that. CoJ: The Cartel is steamworks, too, and still uses uplay.

That's disheartening. Oh well - I've handed over the money now...

Thanks to everyone for their advice. That said, if the game turns out to be guff, I'll be revisiting this thread and each of its contributors. You have been warned...

I insta-preordered it from GMG.

Holy good ol' Western shooters.

I just purchased it from Steam. The only reason I pre-ordered it was because I get BiB for free, & to play now. I'll take the punt.

Bound in Blood was great! A really interesting game with great gameplay and a decent story. Even the environments were open ended so you could do a lot of exploring! As for Gunslinger, it certainly looks great, but I think most people who follow the series remember how much of a flop The Cartel was. Also, $15 is a cheap price which has made me even more suspicious as to exactly how big the game is :P

The price and lack of hype worries me too, but since I didn't have Bound in Blood, it's reasonable value. If I can eke a couple of hours of entertainment out of Gunslinger I'll consider it money well spent :)

I'd jump on it too if I hadn't played Bound in Blood yet. You'll get more than a couple hours!

But The Cartel really just flopped because it wasnt Wild West anymore and that pissed many people off. It wasn't that bad imo and had some nice ideas.

Dead Island without zombies? You sure we played the same game? Nowhere near Dead island :o

The amount of shared assets between The Cartel and Dead Island is more surprising than you think! Several weapon models, objects, textures, even animations are the exact same ones used in Dead Island!

yeah but dead island without zombies? No open world, different battle system, different coop style, no inventory, basically the whole RPG system cut down...

It's just a linear shooter. Pew pew pew.

And within Dead Island, there are parts that contain linear shooting. Despite all of the fundamental differences between the games, it's not everyday I play a game that has the same animations and sounds used in a completely different game lol.

Yeah i don't disagree with that, just on the "Dead Island without zombies" part.

It was an exaggeration, you already know that ^^ Shared assets between two completely different games is a big deal and it doesn't happen often.
