I just got an ITAD alert for this and bought a copy for myself. The original Life is Strange bundle is on sale for $2.99 (85% off) on Steam, which is a new historical low. I'm not sure why it was discounted a few days before the summer sale, but I'm not complaining.

Also, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is on sale for $1.99 (90% off), which is another new historical low.

Holy crap, such a great game for 2€??
I remember getting it for 7.99€ and thought it was a great deal! 100%d it as well. Highly recommend it.

This is a publisher who knows how to sell games. I bought the Eidos Anthology package in a sale not too long ago. I just wish there was a package deal for the original Sleeping Dogs DLC as well. As it is now I'd be paying more for those DLC than then entire DE

Edit: The reason I'm considering buying more of the DLC is that they interact differently with the game than on DE and the original looks more visually pleasing to me.

Original vs DE

This is a publisher who knows how to sell other peoples games. You'll never see these discounts on titles developed by Square Enix.

That may very well be true. I just know that a lot of their published older titles have very fair pricing and preferable bundling on Steam

Of course it's €2,99 in Europe

I'm in Europe as well and it's 1.99€ for me.

That's weird! I'm from Italy and it's 2,99 at -85%.

From SteamDB I see the same price in Europe, and I don't know if it can differ within different European countries.

Also Nioh is historical low too. https://store.steampowered.com/app/485510/Nioh_Complete_Edition___Complete_Edition/
ROTTR too https://store.steampowered.com/app/391220/Rise_of_the_Tomb_Raider/.
I will wait for summer sale though, these prices will carry over and maybe they will have event like lunar new year sale.

i can say, that there is possibility that these games wont be at summer sale, also, there is almost no chance that discounts will be higher, its my monitoring, my advice- buy now if needed, if there will be bigger discount- refund and buy with it, if games are needed now.

Rise of the Tomb Raider might be a historical low discount but it's still $60 here and I could see them dropping the base price sooner or later what with Shadow of the Tomb Raider superseding it as the newest game in the series.

Anyway, there seems to be a Square Enix sale going on that isn't advertised on the front page.

The dialogue is so cringe-worthy; it's what you get when a 40-year old thinks he knows how the cool teenagers talk.

Thank you for confirming I'm not the only one. I was almost a bit shocked at the poor performance in this regard after seeing all the praise the game gets. I started playing on Xbox since the game was part of Game Pass Quests but I couldn't bring myself to continue playing when every dialogue completely breaks the immersion.

So this is a thing in the game then? Can't say I noticed this particular thing if that is the case.

To be honest, I didn't either :3
And I don't think it's that extreme :D

But yeah, it really felt like they tried too hard with the dialogues.

Idk, if you're a teen or in your 20s then maybe. I'm neither a teen nor am a native english speaker so it didn't break suspension of disbelief for me. I never was an american high school student, all I know is the films, so it all sounded fine to me. I also enjoy John Green's teen dialogs (even though I do understand they are unrealistic) :D

And it doesn't work just with age and dialogs. For example, if you're a scientist/engineer/whatever and a hollywood movie touches the subject of your expertise, chances are it'll make you cringe because they've got everything wrong. On the other hand, people who don't know anything about the subject will enjoy the movie (given the fact the rest of it doesn't suck balls).

Actually, I've remembered there was a video on the subject - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JnnxynxsHI

Sleeping dogs for sure. I dont like open world games that avoid guns and focus on fighting but oh boy what a game this is.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It makes sense given the game is set in Hong Kong though as they have extremely tight gun control laws and the fact that it's also an island makes it (at least theoretically)much easier to control the import of guns.

Yes i know that Hong Kong has extremely tight gun control laws and i totally understand the reason that they avoided guns. I cant be more impressed by the fact that i enjoyed a fighting game.

You can buy it, not play it yet and wait for the sales; if it gets a better discount, ask for a refund. I think it should work.

I most likely would but I don't think that's something refunds are intended. I might be wrong though

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You are right, that's not what the refunds are for, and I can understand if anyone feels uncomfortable with this action. However, Steam says: "you can ask for a refund for any reason you want" (sorry if this is not exactly, I'm traslating it because I have it in spanish). You can find it here: https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/

I finished him in 2 days, and it was one of the best games that I played. Probably will buy Life is Strange: Before the Storm.
