Indeed, it would be nice to talk about wins with the gifter later in special groups. Sadly, right now you can only view your own giveaways in those groups.

Honestly, there doesn't seem to be any reason not to make an exception check for users that entered the giveaway when it was active, or especially for the winner. As far as filtering problematic commenters goes, that's what blacklists [and site suspensions] are for. There's no gain to allowing the fairly frequent closing and reformation many groups go through to affect subsequent commenting, and seemingly no downside [other than focusing site development resources toward it] to arranging things so as to bypass that.

Make a support ticket and link the giveaway in question "hey guys can you write 'thanks' on my behalf in the giveaway? thxxx"

You mean you can't comment/delete your comments on a giveaway for a group you left? It's not really a bug, it makes some sense really. If a user is being a little shit and gets kicked, I doubt that the user would appreciate the user going through group giveaways saying "INVIET ME AGIAN PLS".

How common is this use case though? I guess you could always comment on another giveaway by the same user, or on his steam profile.

Couldn't you just message the creator directly and thank them that way?

I understand the sentiment and I wish it was possible. Annoying to go through the persons gibs to find a random public one just to thanks for a game you just played :/.

Anger the site admin enough, since he has access to the entire database. With enough dedication, it could be made to look like as if someone never existed on this site.
