Well, one can always make two accounts, spam bundles on them ($100 limit) and voila.
But hell this is ridiculous.

I've actually seen one user who did this. He had more than just two accounts though. Managed to boost his contrib to 1k+, and despite my report indicating that his "winners" for those multiple copy high value private giveaways never activated them for some reason, he's still around.

"Reporting Users: If you're reporting a user, please do not use support. Instead, click the Report User button which is located on their profile."
Which I did back then.

Report User buttons used to be bugged (Or maybe they still are)
Create a support ticked and you'll have the matter handled.

So that means all the reports I sent haven't reached you? :'D

So, reports are useless now? They all fail to reach mods?

Create a support ticket, reports using the report button are not seen by support members. So yeah, regular reports are useless.

Oh, Lina told me otherwise a couple of days ago. So I supposed it might have been solved.

Nice public group they got there. Entered giveaway, and will demand the pack if I win :>

because the contribution value is most stupid thing on this site, that instead be a place to share spare games it has become a gambling site for boys who don't really need these games. I'll never understand reason to make a giveaway worth $10 with $500 contribution value. If you can't afford $10 for a game you'll never reach $500 cont.val. If you have $500 cont.val. you can simply buy that game.

i never said i'm one to decide, i just don't understand that. otherwise, rules are rules, even these stupid.

And I can also buy a beer in a pub or a T-Shirt, though I enjoy it more when I'm given those, or something pays them for me.

^ this.
The feeling of giving and winning giveaways is nice. It doesn't matter if everything ends up balancing out or not.
It's sometimes fun to buy a game and give it away, then later win that same game rather than just to buy it for yourself.

I agree (not with the exact phrasing, but with the idea). Still not as blatant as Gala Giveaways, where the ways to get more points are to contribute or buy bundles.

Despite I agree that the contribution value is a flawled system. Those arguments are everything but correct.
First of all, no-one needs games, noone. Games are a luxury.
Having said that I came here with the idea of winning free games, the most I could, then I considered that the less I could do is give something back. I can't afford buying every game I want or I would like to try so this site is the perfect way of getting to know more genres, and not only that, but interacting with the community.
Could I afford a ten dollar game if I wanted? Sure. Do I want to buy it? Most of the time, I don't. I'd rather win a game than buy it (Not for the money part, I enjoy more being given things than buying them myself)
And, many of us here are not boys. And I don't see anyone gambling around here.
Lastly, live and let live. And don't try to rule over anyone else. If someone wants to make a 20k fortix giveaway, it's their choice, not yours.

Say you win a giveaway but you don't see it right away. Can the creator of the giveaway choose a new winner at some point before you see that you've won? And if they do this, will you ever know that you won that particular giveaway since I imagine the green bar will go away after a new winner was chosen and unless they stupidly sent you an email, you'd never know from there either.
Just curious I guess if this is another method of potential "scamming" and obviously it would have to be in smaller giveways, as it would be near impossible to quickly pick a specific winner that you want in the large giveaways.

you would have to not see "right away" a big green bar for over 7 days. and then there's also waiting time for reroll, and you cannot reroll without a reason. I believe support would look at ur profiles b4 rerolling and see that it's unfair game exchange just for sake of boosting contrib.

Ah thanks...I wrongly assumed the creator could just hit "reroll" and the system would generate another random winner. Didn't know there was a process involved. I knew you could report a giveaway or a winner after 7 days but didn't know the reroll part also could take more than that time alloted.
The FAQ is good for the basic info but the nuances are picked up from you guys in the threads...thanks.

There is a guy who in most scenarios creates giveaways for two copies of particular game and there are almost always two entries from accounts looking like they were owned by two kids of said guy. A lot of contribution for just buying stuff for his sons.

Hey let's make a giveaway of something with a lots of points and boost our contributor value! Sounds like a good idea!
...They will never learn. http://i.imgur.com/y1VfIPU.png
What was the most ridiculous fraud / system cheating you noticed here on steamgifts? Or the funniest excuses of them. :)
