A quick question

So I just had my first give away and my question is:

If I add them on steam and trade them the gift that they won, does it give me the contributor amount still or do they have to accept through the e-mail?

They have to mark it as received. How you give it to them is not of importance.

When the winner marks it as received (and you mark it as sent) you get the contributed value showing on your account.
