It sickens me that the pre-order is already #9 of the top sellers on steam.
Some people never learn and as long that that's the case, games are still going to be overpriced for underdelivering.
I've made the mistake of pre-ordering a game twice - Resident Evil 6 (which was 30€ including the season pass, so ok, but still kinda not worth the money) and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (37€ for the game and 22€ for the season pass. In terms of being a good borderlands game, TPS failed, the SP sucked and I could've easily just paid 15€ for "just" the two "campaign"-DLCs, leaving the characters aside. In terms of value for money, both games were fine though, paid less than 1€ / hour in the end.
Still, even now, being SO hyped for Deus Ex: Mankind divided, I won't pre-order it. I want to trust Square, but the disappointments with prior full-price-preoders sticks. Buying it on launch week would still be an option though, did that once with War of the Human Tanks - ALTeR and that game really overdelivered. I know, that's all across publishers, but it has some kind of point to me.

Still pretty steep, though, I kind of hope it's a bug.

I say its worth it and they know it. Now hype for Call of Duty is justified while the only game that really was a let down despite is Destiny. Destiny was super popular then no one played it since it got super boring and people are actually selling themselves to other players to run with them because its so dead.

I don't get all the fuss. Don't buy it. Problem solved. And if you must, then just buy it and don't complain - in this case the price is entirely justified. I have the same problem with the Skyrim mod 'controversy' - no one is making you pay for mods. There will still be free mods...

Wow, the NZ price is only 20% more expensive this time. Given I've seen others in the series at 250% more, that is a great deal.
:P

Off topic here, but I enjoyed Black Ops 1 and 2. Granted, the multiplayer is a side thing for me. Single player in 1 had a nice (if covered in plotholes) story, and Black Ops 2 has one of the best stories in a Call of Duty, imo. Kinda excited for 3. Not enough to pay full price, but once it hits $20 I'll definitely pick it up.
