Seems like quality stuff, really, but I like the work of Lovecraft too much to support a goofy abomination of his legacy. The only exception that came to my mind is Cthulhu saves the world, because of it's more adult humour.

I can see your point. I just don't sense it as abomination. May visually not seem too fitting for the lovecraftian cosmos wich is everything else than colorful and happy.
I still like the drawings am sure I'd be able to enjoy the references and am curious to see for what they used the inspiration from his works.
Did you by the way ever play 'The terrible old Man'? It's a free indie point and click adventure. It's pretty short, only takes about half an hour to play it through but maybe that one would fit your tastes more. Graphics are handdrawn and I wouldn't call them exactly beatiful. Therefore they're very fitting for the dark mood the game has.

I just saw a let's play about The terrible old man, haven't played myself yet. It's just an opinion, I don't want to discourage anyone to support the game, I just felt like I had to make my point, that's all.

At first I want to make clear that this project is not mine. Also I hope this post is not somehow against the rules since it's a kind of advertising. Couldn't find anything about this in the rules though.
Ok and now to the reason why I'm posting this: a few days ago I clicked through Kickstarter and found a project wich I find to be very promising. It's a point and click adventure inspired by classic Lucas Art games with a story within the Lovecraft universe. I'm not very good at praising things but I'd suggest you just check the trailer and maybe afterwards you want this to be released as much as I do. Actually they seem to struggle a bit to get the required sum so I thought I try to help them out a little but by posting this here, Would be glad about everyone who helps realising that. : )
Gibbous Kickstarter Page < There's also a demo available there.
