I decided to make the first SG train :-)
And because locomotive is a kind of a train and also the title of my favourite childhood poem I decided to put it into the GA carts. Translation by Walter Whipple.

Also if you feel like sharing your favourite poems - not only from childhood - put it in the comments.

All winner entries will be validated by SgTools, so be sure you enter through the link below.

Yeah, pretty much anything from Shel Silverstein was my favorite as a child.

"Inside everyone's nose
lives a very sharp-toothed snail
if you stick your finger in,
he might bite off your nail!
Stick it farther up inside
and he might bite your ring off
Stick it in all the way
and he might be the whole darn thing off!"

lol...I might have one or two words incorrect, as I was doing that from memory. In any case, wise words from Shel. :D

Взгляни на маленьких совят.
Малютки рядышком сидят.
Когда не спят, они едят.
Когда едят, они не спят.

Shel Silverstein was popular when I was a kid. (Maybe he still is.) Two favorites of mine:

Oh, I'm being eaten
By a boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor,
And I don't like it--one bit.
Well, what do you know?
It's nibblin' my toe.
Oh, gee,
It's up to my knee.
Oh my,
It's up to my thigh.
Oh, fiddle,
It's up to my middle.
Oh, heck,
It's up to my neck.
Oh, dread,
It's upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff . . .

.

Said the little boy, "Sometimes I drop my spoon."
Said the old man, "I do that too."
The little boy whispered, "I wet my pants."
"I do that too," laughed the little old man.
Said the little boy, "I often cry."
The old man nodded, "So do I."
"But worst of all," said the boy, "it seems
Grown-ups don't pay attention to me."
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
"I know what you mean," said the little old man.

He also wrote A Boy Named Sue, but it's more popular as a Johnny Cash song than a poem.

liked walking songs from Lord of the rings, probably some of these:

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

What lies beyond the furthest reaches of the sky?
That which will guide the lost child back to her mother's arms. Exile.

The waves that flow and dye the land gold.
The blessed breath which nurtures life. A land of wheat.

The path the angels descend upon.
The path of great winds. The Grand Stream.

What lies in the furthest depths of one's memory?
The place where all are born and where all will return. A blue star.

Thanks for the train!

The Impossible Poem

ONE BRIGHT DAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT,
TWO DEAD BOYS GOT UP TO FIGHT.
BACK TO BACK THEY FACED EACH OTHER,
DREW THEIR SWORDS AND SHOT EACH OTHER.
THE DEAF POLICEMAN HEARD THE NOISE;
CAME OUT AND SHOT THE TWO DEAD BOYS.
IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THIS LIE IS TRUE,
ASK THE BLIND MAN WHO SAW IT TOO!

Thank you for the ride, Radowy! ^^

My Israeli Independence.

Six thousand lives fifteen thousand injuries
Overcome were the enemies
A country’s independence won
The war anything but fun

Egypt, Jordan and Syria objected to Israel’s goal
We fought them as one nation as a whole
The fighting lasted six days
All of Israel is in a craze

Israel attacks Egypt’s planes
Trying to break the restricting chains
Other countries limit our say
Israel continues bombing planes the next day

The end of the war Egypt retreating
All of Israel dancing and cheering
Israel is now its own state
They are free to decide their own fate

The Jewish people constantly fighting
Displayed in the books of Torah writing
Even though many situations look frail
The Israelites always will prevail!
