Some people are weird.
Just ignore them and keep creating giveaways.

Is the norm putting keys in a txt file, I put them in a discord channel with the name and code

I've always preferred clay tablets myself. The stylus never needs sharpening. But people keep complaining about how they can't read cuneiform. Kids these days....

You can giveaway what you want to.
But if you giveaway lots of those trash "games", it very quickly seems like you want to abuse the system of Steamgifts. Nobody wants to play these "games", some might want them for a +1 in their library or a +1 win their win count here on SG, some might want them to farm cards. Probably many, if not most, of your entries are automated. Some people, including me, might blacklist you for that.
If you buy one random key pack and giveaway a bunch of those at once - fine, you fallen for a random key pack, activate them yourself, don't give them away here (imo). If you giveaway these kind of "games" again and again, you support their "devs" in their shady schemes (getting money from random key pack of "positive rated games"; changing the games name to some AAA title and try to grab money that way; money laundering; ...).
Edit: Take a look at this thread: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/eIkkz/are-these-overpriced-games-being-created-to-farm-cv-on-sg-update-games-being-reduced-to-0-cv

When I rarely happen to get games like this, or games that have been free multiple times, I use the orphan keys drop thread. For the worse games I just drop the keys with basic character scrambling, for the better ones maybe just ask somebody to properly reply. I think it's a good solution to get rid of the keys that will go to somebody who wants them, without really "advertising" them as giveaways :)

I am a little torn on games that have been free multiple times in the past as there are some quite good games among them, e.g. This War of Mine.
My question is, where do one get keys for the really (overprirced) trash stuff?
I have bought 1 (or 2?) fanatical mystery packs in the past and the games were kind of decent. I assume most come from <grey- to blackmarket key (re)seller> websites that sell keys for pennies or random packs (Are there sufficient good, or even just dencent, games in there to justify buying them more than once out curiosity?). Why would one buy these very cheap keys or random packs? Card farming comes to mind or something SG related (CV faming or meeting numer quotas in groups).
Comment has been collapsed.
On grey markets, ebay, amazon etc. are bundles for 5€ guarranting you x games with 80%+ positive reviews worth 30€+ each. Easy to fell for from my own experience.
If such shovelware game cost 200€, none buys it in store, so reviews % can't decrese and you pass promised cost of game.

I only had occasional leftover keys where the devs turned out to be a bad apple, no personal experience with the overpricing thing really. But as xxxka said here and mentioned it previously, ebay "scams" with guaranteed stats is a very likely source.

Fanatical mystery packs aren't bad, by any means. They have and can offer some pretty interesting games to play and some of the things people have gotten from them recently I have even wanted to play myself, with great pleasure.
From my own personal experience, a friend of mine bought one of these grey market mystery packs (out of curiosity) from a 3rd party website. The keys are probably provided from the developers directly, the rest probably from somewhere else (questionably acquired keys, stolen keys, scammed keys and et cetera). What he got was all overpriced trash, only a few that weren't even profile limited games and even those weren't any good either. He gave me a few of the keys, which I tried for myself to see what on earth they were and they weren't anything but some asset flips to disguise as a sort of "product". The games themselves probably weren't even made with SG in mind, probably just overpriced to reek in some cash.
I'd rather stay away from this trash, nobody wants it, nobody plays it. Some of the games my friend got I did play out of irony because they were so bad it was funny, but otherwise, no. No need to support this grey market of illegally obtained keys for mere profit.

Some people think that users giving away these games are doing it for farming CV; when now it's common knowledge (IMHO) that those games will end being set to 0CV retroactively. But those people may not be aware or still have some hostility towards users making that kind of giveaways. Not the first time I've seen comments in these giveaways, people can get salty quickly. Other times are neutral, like "You know this game will end having no CV, right?" or similar.
My suggestion, as I would do in your case, is to keep making those giveaways, with an added comment in the lines of "I know this game is going to be set to zero CV and I'm not putting it here to farm levels. I just have no use for this key, so if any of you are interested for collecting or curiosity, you're welcome to participate in the giveaway".
That said, I also want to warn you that a large proportion of the people don't read the comments; but maybe in cases where the game being given is notorious for any reason, like the games you mention, they'll do.
Another option, since you'll get no CV and maybe you think it's still troublesome, is to put them in the Orphan thread (for the first one who grabs it) or the Anti-ninjas thread (where you offer it, and give it to the first one who asks for it, or make some kind of raffle among all requesters). Note that putting a key in the wild in the Orphan thread will make it be harvested by bots, so you have to make some minor anti-bot adjustements. Read some of the methods found in that thread to know what I'm talking about. Other times, people are not even logged in or simply don't say thanks, we call them "ninjas" cuz they're fast and silent. Remember to read the original post of each thread before choosing this way so you know what you get into.

Personally I just instantly put that kind of games in my ignore list when I find them here, both in Steam's ignore list and SG's one. So in a way, you're doing a service. At least to me, so thanks.

Personally I never got that reaction. I always make giveaways for my spare keys, but I also don't buy low quality bundles. My only "bad" games come from Fanatical's mystery bundles and I just make regular giveaways for them as well. If people want +1 they can also be tied to their SG profile.

They are fake? The Steam price is too high?people obviously want them.
people obviously want them.
Auto Mechanic Sim costs 40€, and its historic lowest is 0.19€ at 90% off. Which means the dev sold this game for two euro, then decided that now it's worth 20x as much. Yes, it's "fake", its price is definitely too high, and to be honest I don't even know why people enter for it, when it doesn't even have cards.
It will certainly will be, or already is set to worth 0 CV. Know this, accept this, and don't care about the other things.

I used to buy mystery bundles on ebay and sg site I found after getting like 10 keys for Age of wonders 3 (free game seller claimed by bot multiple times) and people there haven't accepted it well also and spamed blacklists on me. It happens, just giveaway them, get rid of them and life goes on, not such damage done.

I feel like I have to ask permission before I give away any more keys.
I don't think you do at all as long as you're doing them as a public GA.
Groups however sometimes have certain expectations/requirements for their GAs.
I checked your GAs and I don't see the cheap asset flips and sex-focused titles that are spammed sometimes and are kind of annoying, so I don't see why people are giving you a hard time.
Ignore them, I guess.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, that's pretty common on SG. Back when I was active here, I made a train consisting of hidden object games and got on quite a few blacklists - solely because of the genre. Not to mention that it's not like you're buying dozens of ultra cheap hentai bundles to give them away, you're just sharing leftovers, I don't get what's wrong with that.
So, basically, just relax and accept that negative reactions will always exist, don't think about them and try to have fun!

If you really want to rile up people, make one by one giveaways of a game instead of a 5 copy one. Some people are furious that they need to spend points on each, but the people who really want that game will be thankful for the smaller entry numbers. Talgaby did it back in the day and it was hilarious :D

Well, I have to admit that I was judging him based on the existing GAs. Now I'm reading about the deleted ones, and the picture does change a bit.

Oh come on, that's pretty lame You gave away multiple 40p+ "games" of such quality and all I commented was that you can do better than that. A harmless suggestion, because you seemed reasonable after your recent introduction thread. Your immediate reaction was to delete all of them and open this thread.
Oppenh4imer and adam1224 explained well enough what the issue is with such giveaways. If you want to pretend these are just average bundled games, please do so. But we all know better.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think deleting them was a reasonable response. I had obviously stepped over a line. What would you prefer I had done?
And expressing my frustration here is also reasonable. Am I wrong? I'll delete this post if you can show me what guideline I broke. I'm serious.
I didn't name you, I'm not attacking you, and frankly you aren't the only person, nor the meanest one by far, who has said something about this.
Someone showed me where these games get reported, and someone else pointed out that another game I am giving away is a bad one. I got the help I needed from posting in the help section. and I have also personally reported it here.
In the future I will repot all such games before I give them away. If that isn't sufficient I suggest you offer to join the mod team so these games get zeroed out faster. I'm sure they are overworked as it is.

You are free to give away whatever you want. But yes, of course people will judge your choices.
Just like people will be excited about someone giving away the newest AAA highlights, they'll also judge people trying to game the CV system with such products.
But alas, we seem to have found a common ground about these.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you really want to get into the overthinking game, write a description that you already reported the game, and you know you won't get CV from it. Still, people may blacklist you for seeing the game, and not even opening the GA, or not even reading your description.
Some people even will un-blacklist you for making better giveaways, then the bottom of the barrel will put you back to their blacklist after the giveaways ended.
Overall it's the easiest and maybe best way is just to let it go. Most blacklist carry no weight as no giveaways are done. Some blacklist carries the weight of like 1 wanted game a month, with who knows how many hundreds, or even thousands of people entering. Just don't worry, and certainly don't try to please people threatening with blacklists.
Don't be an ass, and maybe try to make people's day just a bit better, that's all that really matters at the end of the day.

I get hundreds of entries, people obviously want them
Well, consider autojoiners and bots, this drops to maybe 1-2 people. So not really, no.
If their price is too high, a system exists to fix this
Yes, but giving away the game and having people activating those shit ass game keys just enables the behavior of those scum devs to push the keys further. Granted - they seed out the autojoiners because no one with a brain will enter those, but such giveaways still flood the SG and not to mention Steam itself.
I feel like I have to ask permission before I give away any more keys.
Well, you are one of the users who does not abuse the system and don't intend to do that by giving these games away.. at least going by this post. But you can clearly see quite a lot of low level users spamming these crap asset flip "games" in numbers hoping they will game the system and get fast level. Who even knows what is the logic by those "devs" to raise the price, but it shouldnt be something that should be supported in one way or the other. It is a systematical issue of Steam allowing those games, devs being able to shit out keys in hundreds and then "bundle" sites, that could be at best described as landfill for garbage, selling them to people like you. In the end they get only a cent or two from revenue (maybe) but those scamming morons still get money out of their shitty behavior.
Try to see it in big picture. As others have said - you are free to give away what you want, but it does not end with just reducing CV to zero.... At least that is why I highly dislike when people give away these games and end up blacklisting some.

Could you please blacklist me, as I will surely giveaway those games? By keeping it permanent, you save me one blacklist slot.
Comment has been collapsed.
There is like a million users on this site... people will find a way to complain about something. It's not like you are forcing them to enter. People just need to move along. If they scold you blacklist them! lol...Continue doing giveaways, one man's trash is someone's treasure. FYI - You can create a support ticket to increase your GA count...

Some people would rather blacklist a user and never see their future giveaways. I just hide giveaways for the trash games. This site is the place to give away extra copies and useless crap, lots of us don't want them but some people do. One person I see constantly gives away trash games but at least they make it easy to find and hide trash games. If you are afraid of blacklists the only way to avoid them is to not use this website.

There are definitely people who make giveaways for trash games in big batches. Some blocks then for convenience, I'm happy because they fuel my "hide more games on SG" game :D

I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as you are following the official guidelines, give away what you want, how you want. There are people who may not like the type of games you give away, the quality of them, the quantity of them, if they are public or group/invite-only, your ratio of games won to games given away, the cash value of those games, etc, etc. Some of these things may be very important to some people, and completely trivial to others, but neither view is right or wrong. It's all a matter of what each person is looking to get from their time on sg. My advice is to focus on what YOU are looking to get from your time here.
I'm mainly here to unload extra keys, keep track of new deals and bundles, occasionally pick up a free game, and look for inspiration to tackle my backlog. I've given away plenty of 0CV games, bundle leftovers, and some shitty hentai games. I rarely do public GAs and don't give a hoot about my level or ratios beyond what is needed for the couple of groups I am in. I've run into people who've blacklisted me and been locked out of some restricted giveaways for not meeting some specific requirement. But I'd say 99% of my interactions here have been positive. Most of the people who enter and win my GAs are happy. I'm happy - and that's what matters in the end.

Once i also wanted to try those mystery keys from a keyshop and bought one pack with like 5-6 games i think and of course it was nothing i would like to add to my steam library so i thought i will give them away just here in a public giveaway just to get rid of them somehow.
The result was that i also got blacklisted 3 times and somehow it felt bad for me and i regreted that i created those giveaways, but i wasnt even aware that its a thing and wasnt planning to waste my money on those trash games anyway ever again.
Now i dont care too much about those who blacklisted me , but back then it was kinda like a stab in my heart lol... dont wanna dramatize, but yeah i had weird feeling and thoughts... also i wasnt in a good "condition" back then which probably was the main factor actually.
So yeah i kinda get it that it could be frustrating, but on the other hand it just tells me from my own experience that if something like this bugs you too much, maybe you should somehow work on this and find out what the real reason for this frustration is... cuz you really shouldnt be involved emotionally in this kind of stuff and the healthy reaction should be more like "whatever" and thats it, cuz thats something really irrelevant in the big picture.
Anyway, im glad that you dont wanna support those shady devs and you deleted those giveaways , cuz spreading them idk.. i also dont like it tbh, but i never blacklisted anyone yet, cuz im trying my best to be just positive and dont wanna add random people to a list which is just associated with "negative" feelings.
i dont know if you care or not, but i just whitelisted you so maybe this will give you a tiny bit of a better feeling :D
Take care and just try forget about this kind of stuff and go on! Its not worth your time and energy at all!
Cheers :)

Edit: I appreciate everyone's contribution. It's a lot to think about.
I think what I am going to do going forward is make sure the game is reported, and report it myself if it's not. Then put a disclaimer up. Eventually, a long while I'm sure, when I'm trusted I might try to get on the team that zeros out these games.
I am impressed by the Community. No one was impolite, people were very blunt (Which I sincerely appreciate), and I don't have any complaints about anyone. I still appreciate you taking the time to help me, even if you don't particularly care for me.
Dave
I am frustrated.I have some keys that I have tried to giveaway and people don't like them? They are fake? The Steam price is too high? People have scolded me or said that lots of people will blocklist me for giving them away? Said I should delete the giveaway. They are bad games. I get that, I get hundreds of entries, people obviously want them. But I don't get why giving them away is such a big deal? If their price is too high, a system exists to fix this, complain about them and have their CV adjusted? I understand this happens all the time anyway when games get bundled or given away.I'm not about grinding a high level, I have given away several zero or reduced value games. if I was farming levels why would I bother giving away those games?I have been buying bundles for years and I have a lot of extra keys and I just want someone to use these extra keys instead of them just sitting in a txt file somewhere.I feel like I have to ask permission before I give away any more keys.Comment has been collapsed.
