Let's see, in fantasy settings, if there's a game that you have a choice to choose to play between Human (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Human-Look) and Non-Human (Furry, Anthro, Animal, Goblin, Orc, Alien, Monster). Assumed they same or different stats or skill, with or without lore/story, both have GA, etc. Which one you will choose?

Something like,
Skyrim, which will you choose between Khajiit, Argonian or other human races?
Evolved, assumed there same game play, which will you choose Human or Monster?
World of Warcraft, Alliance (Draenei excluded), or Horde (Blood Elf and Undead excluded)?
Mass Effect, Human or other Aliens?
etc...

I thinking about choosing a theme for my game, I lean toward non-human though, but I want to see majority's choice as well. ;P

In fantasy/sc-fi games, I often find myself wanting to represent mankind who tends to be the underdogs with most gamers flocking to the more badass species.

Although, on the few occasions when the humans are heavily armed & overpowered, I feel the urge to crawl out of a ventilation shaft and rip the smug faces off those arrogant jerks. :)

If I'm staring at the main character for the entire duration of the game, she better be attractive!

I almost always prefer to play human. I really miss Mass Effect games too :/

Seemingly most will choose Human-ish over the others, unless Non-Human have better stats, or better story, hah.

Kindly yiff in hell.

When I play a game, I want to identify with the character. Being as close to human is the best means of doing so, if there is such an option. Otherwise, if I'm forced to choose between characters with which I do not identify, I will opt for the one which best represents me or my intended role in the game. This only really applies on my first run or character, though. Thereafter, I experiment with the other classes or races or roles and explore their unique characteristics. The initial character is always the ideal of myself, though.

It depends a lot on my mood. While I usually find it easier to identify with a human-ish character than a very non-human one, I still think it can be an interesting experience to play something very different. So I can't really vote (as long as I don't have to play a stinking elf).

Usually non-human, because it helps for immersion and escapism purposes. Truth be told, I do tend to create quite a few characters before I 'settle' on one.

I think this poll is not well thought out, I prefer fantasy creatures like elves or orcs first, but I'd rather play a human than a furry.

In my case, Orc is different enough but elf is still look too human-ish, so I included it to Human type.
